-Anonymous usage stats
--2 digital clock things that where eating up around 20MB ram (and I didn't even use those widgets...)
-facebook
-facebook extensions
-get games 1.5.1
-live wallpaper picker
-magicsmoke
-playstation pocket
-retail demo
-support (got the xda app :p)
-talk
-twitter (extension)
-voice dialer
-iplayer (that came with root)
-chinese keyboard
-bruce lee
-pws
-setup guide
- Sony Ericsson sync client wizard
-sony ericson home

and some things you listed already

Did make backups of most of it with titanium backup though.

Don't delete sony ericson home , it's the standard launcher :p fixed this by holding the search button, voice searche for android market, entered the android market from the browser and instaleld launcherpro. anyone got a backup of the standard SE launcher for me?

Got 110MB ram used after start-up now. Seems nice to me (used to be around 170-180 if I recall correctly).

PS I advice against removing office suite as it is used for viewing documents (like word documents, pdf files and those things), unless you got some replacement offcourse.

I used the free version of titanium. It's quite easy. You got a list of all apps that are installed, they are color coded (red=standard phone files, green=standard files with cache you can clear and white is user installed files). Just tab the app and select uninstall. Selecting back-up will only back-up data like preferences and saves I think.

Wornining, don't freeze or un-install SE Home, because it is your home screen and your phone will never unlock the screen. I had to go to titaniam backup and defrost it.

ok just a few questions before I jump in, what does the freezing option actually do?. And also if I was to backup an application first then unistall it, can I then restore it.?

I'm not sure but I think it's like a uninstall that you can put back. You freeze it, rest of the system think it's gone, you unfreeze, and it's back as it was before. Could be used as a test before uninstalling.

My device survived around 60 hours, including 1.5 hours of gaming (super mario kart to be ecaxt), the occasional whatsapp/skype/texting, around 20MB of downloads and some surfing + playing music on my earplugs for a few hours. Still got 15% left (dimmed the screen brightnes when I was around 50%). Deleting bloatware really seems to help.

Hey all,

I have also uninstalled a pile of bloatware, mostly covered by what has been mentioned already. Some of the names I don't remember but I will write what is on my list via Titanium:

iPlayer, magicsmoke, protips, stk, touchpal, thesims3, facebook, twitter, geniewidget, talk, music, timescape, support, digitalclock, owstore, retaildemo, setupwizard, touchnote, vodafoneshop, vodafoneupdates, whatsapp.

From the earlier list, I don't recommend anyone remove the Get Games unless they are sure they don't want any from the "more games" when you slide open your phone. I had thought I could still get the full list of games via market, but games like Backstab aren't. You can't get these games via emulators either.

My phone has went from booting in around 5 minutes to less than 1 minute & I had initially freed RAM up to the point where I was >200Mb.

The phone flies now, you can really see the difference. I'm also keeping widgets to a minimum & I highly recommend no-one puts on the useless task managers to kill processes (which themselves drain the battery). Simply use Running Services within settings. Oh, and I now only have 13 running services :)

My battery life I haven't noticed yet because the phone is stuck to my hand ;)

Good luck all,

Rixter

Lol, I hear ya. I'm only starting out with Android so the curve is still upward. From what I read from other sources, task killers are only useful if you have them set to automatically kill because the offending services continually restart. Then it's a looping killing field, as you say chicken & egg time. The way forward is to root & remove the apps

I'm trying to be good by using the inbuilt OS to find out status rather than add more hoggers such as battery widgets, task killers etc. Gotta stretch that battery to it's max.

I still haven't had time to play many games yet!!

boot time is faster & phone overall is smoother.
but battery is the same.

4.5 hrs of usage (push mail, whatsapp, sms, a few phone calls) with only 55%.

    -anonymous usage stats
-apps (icon has a shopping cart with red "v" in it)
    -asphalt

    -com.sonyericsson.learningclient
    -crash bandicoot
    -crash monitor

-gmail (not email {email is required i think but not gmail})
    -home screen tips
-desktop launcher (MUST have replacement homescreen app before doing this one or your phone will never go past the "unlock" screen {i use adw launcher ex})
    -live wallpaper classic psp
    -live wallpaper original psp
    -live wallpaper picker
    -madden nfl 11

that is my list of apps i put in bloat freezer

note:if the op wants to copy and paste this list into their op (original post) they have my permission and do not need confirmation, but if you are NOT the op please pm me with a request BEFORE posting this list (i will most likely say yes, but if you post it before asking i will report to the admin as soon as i see this list {or any part of it} posted without permission)

I found this, it's for the Xperia Arc but it should be similar enough.

    Courtesy of http://www.android-support.com/the-...e-list-of-system-apps-for-xperia-arc-updated/

Sorry if this has been posted before in the thread. I removed a bunch of the recommended ones and everything seems to be working fine still.

List updated, now with complete descriptions for all APKs.

This is a handy reference guide I had posted on my local forum, the list of apps may not be identical to everyone else, but the core ones are there. Hope it's helpful here too! :)

Feel free to let me know if this is helpful or if there's any additions or corrections needed to be done. :)

WARNING: Rooting and removing System apps is at personal choice and risk of lost of warranty and damaging the phone.
WARNING: Always make a complete backup of ALL the system apps before removing any in case of accidental deletion.
DISCLAIMER: This is only a reference guide. I will bear no responsibilities if by referencing this guide through your own discretion damages your phone in any way.

Apps that are unsafe to remove or are linked to phone's capabilities:
(Keep them if you want access to all of your phone's features.)

Note: Many of these only run when needed while a few of them are persistent services that are about 1mb sizes. While removing them may give you a few mb more, keeping them is rather insignificant.
Note: Some of them can also be removed if you have replaced or removed the main app they are tied to, but read the descriptions carefully!

    Can be replaced:
(These apps can be safely removed and be replaced by preferred third party apps of the same function.)

Warning: Sony Ericsson's home launcher should not be removed until after another third party home launcher has been installed and properly set up to take over it's function.
Note: Depending on the third party calendar app of choice, it may be advisable to setup your calendars using the default calendar app before removing it.
Note: Removing the default clock widget will also remove the alarms feature. Ensure your clock of choice has alarms or have another alarms app installed.

    Updating of System apps:
Unlike user apps, when system apps get updated, the original apk in /system/app cannot be replaced automatically. Hence the newer version will be installed as a user app in /data/app.
To save space on your rom, the original ones in /system/app can be deleted. Or, you can manually replace the newer ones from /data/app to /system/app.
Deleting the ones in /system/app is recommended since future updates will replace them and saves space on the rom.

Warning: It is safer to remove System apps from /System/App after you have updated them.
Note: Doing either method for facebook.apk will cause you to lose your facebook contacts. However, they can be restored by launching the facebook app, press back button, then menu button > Settings > Sync Contacts. You will also have to manually resync the ones that have been manually added using 'Join Contacts' as well.
Note: The exception is AdobeFlashPlayer.apk. Manually moving it to /system/app will not work. It only works when it's properly installed. So, simply delete the one in /system/app instead. And if it stops working, simply tap the one in /data/app to reinstall it properly.
Note: Having only one instance of Android Market will also fix the bug where some users' Market will not correctly show all the apps that are installed under 'My apps'.

The apks currently with updates are:
