Trying method 3 i get a error when extracting to twrp backup what am i missing? Do I rename or leave .7z?
Ok, just installed the tmobile alliance (with the meta-inf folder replaced with one that @carl1961 gave me) and it seems to be working. Only issue i've noticed so far is the Wifi calling error in status bar. I'm sure there is a way to turn it off or hide it, but havent had a chance to look.Gotcha. Yes that tmobile alliance lollipop should work on our N3. As long as you flash ALL other OC1 partitions in Odin afterwards.

Fyi.....there is a guy on the Vz Note 3 forum who has developed a Safestrap replacement called Multisystem. It sounds like it will work on 5.0 but he is waiting for 5.0 to be released for the N900V before releasing multisystem. It sounds promising....correct NC2 safestrap's HiJack process to attach a recovery in userdata area is getting blocked, but luckly with our bootloader not getting updated we can install NC2 kernel and get to safestrap providing you do not wipe your internal sdcard and loose the hidden linux safestrap recovery stuff
on Lolipop I have nothing of safestrap app installed
system/etc/safestrap folder is empty, when you boot into safestrap recovery , Safestrap looks for the bin files and updates them before booting out recovery
pictures show nothing safestrap on my lollipop except system/etc/safestrap empty folder and nothing safestrap app related on internel sdcard . the bin files ddexe and e2fsck put there by safestrap recovery ( in my case they where already included in NL1 System TWRP backup mad by muniz_ri) and @muniz_ri
can clear up any confusion I may have cause her LOL
I get the error using es explorer I'm going to start over thanks for replying buddyYou need to extract files from .7z. Using 7zip or ESExplorer.
For those who do not know, If your going to test and run a custom rom, Then you only need the @Walter.White OC1 firmware installed and working safestrap recovery, after recovery install the OC1 kernel. there is no point in fighting the Rooted OTA if your going to wipe it out when you install a custom ROM.Feel free to spread the word around about your success...so that more people can enjoy custom lollipop ROMs
Done! per @carl1961 's suggestion I created a thread in General outlining the process. Here is the link.Feel free to spread the word around about your success...so that more people can enjoy custom lollipop ROMs

Hey Walter, I'm on Alliance now. They have a decent # of mods available. The two big things I used from xposed were clock position and NFC unlocking. Alliance handled the clock mods, while Google had NFC unlock built in. I believe all the settings and smoothness of lollipop make it worth the jump. My 0.02 (more like 5)Gotcha. Yes that tmobile alliance lollipop should work on our N3. As long as you flash ALL other OC1 partitions in Odin afterwards.

Open phone app, then press settings button. I noticed video playback is stopping halfway through and opening up the video at all on stock app, camera 360 ultimate and google camera forces the fone to reboot :crying:Anyone noticing any other bugs?
