Can I flash N900A_OC1_Stock_Rooted if i mess up something? Like installed the wrong twrp version and I was locked out, was saying I installed something unaccepted and that I should go to an AT&T store for assistance. I was trying to install TWRP on OC1 but couldn't find the right installer. Now I revert back to NC2 and then back up to OC1 using the stock rooted method.
Why are you trying to install twrp? There is no twrp for the note 3!! Safestrap only. You can't try to install a custom recovery on a locked bootloader phone.

yeah its under settings and device.. you can use it 2 ways.. by holding the back button until the slots pop out (then drag and drop) or swipe from top left or right corner inwards and it will turn into a small window

Help

Hey. I tried flashing the Lollipop rom after following the steps of the second procedure given in the first thread. I recieved an error which said that the binary could not be updated. What does this mean, and how do I proceed and succesfully instal the rom?

It could mean a few different things.

1. Has anyone installed the Stock rooted zip using the install method in post 2 that Walter updated last night? @Walter.White is amazing, but there is always the chance of some kind of error, so we need to find out if anyone has been able to successfully install it. If not, then walter will have to see what is wrong with the zip. If yes, then....
2. Did you check the md5 after you downloaded it?

Ah. I was following the old procedure. Two things: a) What do you mean by checking the MD5 b) For the new procedure, I'm currently on NC2. Is there anything I need to do to succesfully update?

No! however, you could probably go the other way. put lollipop on stock and then NC2 on slot 1-4. Since SS doesnt boot with the OC1 kernel and you need the OC1 kernel to boot lollipop you would be stuck.

If you put NC2 on slot 1-4, then you can boot to Stock slot with OC1 kernel and get to lollipop. If you wanted the NC2, just use the NC2 flasher, get to safestrap and activate the other slot and reboot. I would imagine that would work.

If you wanted to go back to lollipop, you would just reboot to SS, activate stock slot, flash OC1 kernel and good to go.

a. When you download the file on android host, it gives you the download information:

download information
44 downloads

size

1.4GB

md5

dfdb007237269046b12d1b8b5f7f54cd

You can download a program (or app) that will check the md5 of the file you downloaded to make sure they match.

b. That depends. If you are on stock NC2, then you need to root, busybox, ss. Then you can get to SS and follow procedure from there.

If you're rooted and already on oc1 lollipop, you need nc2 flasher app, and the oc1 recovery zip, make sure you're rooted, have busy box and safestrap, go into safestrap and install recovery, then you need to use the nc2 flasher app, this will flash nc2 kernel so when you reboot you can go into safestrap/custom twrp, do your stuff in recovery and when you're done you flash the oc1 recovery zip which will flash back the lollipop kernel so you can boot the phone back up.

First off, you most likely only soft bricked the phone which you will be able to fix, so breathe. :)

Second, give us a little more information about what exactly you did so we know if the phone is completely wiped or just needs a different kernel.

Haha, alright. I was running Dynamic Kat in the stock rom and activated Slot 1 and flashed the given rom in the new rooted procedure. Now when I try to turn on the phone I get the "Galaxy Note 3" watermark and it never boots. I'm guessing this is what we call a "bootloop". I was thinking that if I Odined the NC2 kernel it would fix it. Do you think that would work?

That would be the first place to start.

1. Enter Download mode
2. Odin the NC2 kernel.
3. Enter SS when it starts
4. Activate stock slot.
5. Reboot.

See how that works.

Odin: 3.10 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711451
Do you happen to have the kernel switcher odin file, so I can switch back to the nc2(???) kernel and have safestrap working again? Right now I am coming from Note 4 Evolution Port 3.0 so there's no safestrap recovery support for it. Thanks.
