[Rooted OR Stock] Update Procedure For Lollipop 5.0 (OC1)

A few bugs I have noticed when following procedure on post #2 (Very Easy Method.) (Oh and I followed the direction there this morning after it was updated).

1) If you enabled weather to be displayed in S-View window, I start seeing terrible battery drain. It appears that location services keeps running over and over again indefinitely. If I disable that feature or disable Unified Daemon (EU) then everything returns to normal.

2) Knox force closes just once on startup.

3) I see two icons in my app drawer that says KNOX Settings. One icon has a yellow shield and the other has an orange shield. When attempting to open the application I get "Unfortunately, Container Agent2 has stopped."

@Duskycub or anyone who followed the "OC1 Stock Rooted Very Easy Procedure" (after I updated the file last night).... I take it that you guys no longer experience FCs or any other problems right out the box?

I had Knox too, and all the debloat apps I removed force closed too, but other than that, nope.

Speaking of the job question you asked earlier. Its actually funny because I had a first interview this past Tuesday at a really nice Pharm company...and they called be back yesterday saying that they want be back for a 2nd interview tomorrow. So hopefully I'll know more if I'll get the job or not next week.

Here is what I did and my phone is working flawlessly with no issues running Alliance V 1.1 LP:
1. Restored to NC2. Clean slate is always good.

2. Rooted, busyboxed, safestrapped.
3. Rebooted into SS and flashed Alliance V 1.1

4. Flashed the OC1 kernel.

5. Rebooted into download mode and odined CP, BL, and CSC from this thread
and that's it.

Speaking of the job question you asked earlier. Its actually funny because I had a first interview this past Tuesday at a really nice Pharm company...and they called be back yesterday saying that they want be back for a 2nd interview tomorrow. So hopefully I'll know more if I'll get the job or not next week.

To install the apps you posted of the s6 I need to boot into safetrap? If no I have to use the pc right?

yest they all or safestrap recovery installer, but do a backup first when you get in recovery

Walter I also get the fc skim32 Metions here. The Knox one (this is just a single time) and the thing of the 2 icons of Knox also not working.

Ok i gave it a few only problem i see is a knox crash error, now for the bigger issue, i noticed when i pushed power button there is a menu item for bootstrap when i do that it works i made a nandroid backup and now it will only reboot into the original recovery after pushing continue. any ideas how to go back into rom

When you use the power menu to boot into safestrap, it flashes NC1 so that safestrap works. To get back into Lollipop you need to flash OC1 Kernal via the flashable zip that is located /sdcard/OC1_Kernel/. This must be done everytime you boot into safestrap.

There is a flaw with splanner, (calander) @mannyp01 found when you try to set time in a event the splanner FC and @mannyp01 also found the calculator one hand operation doesn't work...even with the setting selected it's shows a full keyboard. So if I find fix I will update them.

There is a flaw with splanner, (calander) @mannyp01 found when you try to set time in a event the splanner FC and @mannyp01 also found the calculator one hand operation doesn't work...even with the setting selected it's shows a full keyboard. So if I find fix I will update them.

Wifi Issue Lollipop

The first issue ive noticed so far is that the wifi suddenly stopped working.. do i really have to factory reset the phone? or is there another way? Ive rebooted the phone disconnected and reconnected the wifi.. and still nothing

When towel root came out I remember we were warned not to wipe everything. It had something to do with our bootloader being locked and not being able to undo the wipe which led to a brick.

I'm not very well versed in all this, but I am noticing that the instructions say to wipe everything except for external. I just want to be sure that "everything" really means everything. Would appreciate some guidance here, especially if there is something I should be careful not to wipe.

Decided to go for it. Figured I would just follow the instructions. For wiping in safestrap, I chose everything except for the external sd as the directions say.

Not sure what happened but I am getting a boot loop. Gave it some time, and it just keeps going. Any ideas?

realized I had a rom installed before....did a clean install of nc3...rooted using towel root and safestrap...no more boot loop...gotta follow instructions more closely

Safetrap question

I'm rooted using alternate easier method and everything is great except the s-pen screen shot
But my question is since I used this method can I still boot into safetrap using carl1961 method in post 266
Confused since some posts day that it is only possible using very easy method

Yes, you have replaced it with the "other partitions......etc" tar file which is what those things I mentioned.
They're the bootloader and modem and the CSC att files, I think.

Go to settings> General Tab> About Phone
1. Quickly Click on Android Version 3 times, a circle lollipop should appear

2. Then quickly tap the lollipop 5 times, hold your finger on the last tap and slide your finger out of the lollipop.
