Magisk 20.x?

Does the warning on upgrading Magisk still apply? I can't really install any modules with the 18.x version (keep getting an error about needing to update Magisk). Does 20.x work without bootlooping? If not, how would I patch Magisk a newer? Do you have the sources to what you modified posted to github/lab? Any plans to get this working in mainline Magisk?
