Great news! Red has responded to me on Facebook saying they are open to unlocking the bootloader for non-carrier devices (ie those bought directly from Red).

So there's hope!

Is there any word on rooting this?

Come on, man! Of all the brilliant people on this forum SOMEONE must have a way to root this.

I think the problem is that without a phone in hand, any good hacker can't do anything. And judging by the amount of phones sold globally (based just on the Holopix members) its less than 20,000 worldwide.

I have successfully unlocked my bootloader but im not a developer so i dont know how to compile a TWRP for it but but if any one does know how i really would like to assist in getting this device rooted i have been trying since they day it was released

Got a friend over from the USA and I need to unlock this for her the handset is on AT&T, I need to use it on UK Vodafone....

How do I go about it ?

I have successfully unlocked my bootloader but im not a developer so i dont know how to compile a TWRP for it but but if any one does know how i really would like to assist in getting this device rooted i have been trying since they day it was released

i could compile a TWRP but need this phone unlocked, open marked requests a unlock code
then i can pull ROM of it and compile TWRP
