No. I have a pix3 vzw with unlocked bootloader. I"m not the least bit jealous. But I am someone who considers themselves a 'part of the community'.
You, on the other hand, are not.
Simple? I'll give you simple. The bounty for finding an exploit is probably around $2k at this point and probably double that across all versions. So even if you get half the bounty, figure 2k, there are others that would just throw you some dough like @l7777 mentioned. I have a Google brand P5 and I don't need an exploit to unlock the bootloader and I'd even give $20.
So let's do some math. If you save $100 / device by buying a Verizon branded device because of your plan or whatever, you can now buy 20 years worth of Google phones without needing an exploit. And if you save $200 / device that would take you out to 2031. And as a bonus you would get to tell all of us how we were wrong. That's worth another 5 years of bragging rights and probably more knowing how you lord it over us. But I believe I'm wasting my time and everyone else's here.
But on the flip side, at least we have a thread that is not about 5G hacks, and all things root. I wish they'd have a separate section for "all things root" not just Rom's and Kernels. But that's another story for another day.
A link to instructions would be sufficient. Hash tagging #wah is trolling behavior. BTW, I live in Canada. I don't have the Verizon issue.

Because the carriers offer "discounts". And sometimes it's just not clear what you're getting from places like best buy and other general stores that sell phones.
Only one way. Screenshot of the OEM switch, IMEI means nothing. If you can't get that from the seller find another.

Sure thing. This is a used unboxed device, right? Have them turn it on, login (not sure if they need to but they will remove their account and reset the device when it's all over), connect to their carrier or wifi and then tap "about phone" in settings, go down to the bottom and tap "Build number" 7 times to enable dev options. Then back out and go into dev options under system. Scroll down and look for "OEM Unlocking" and it should look like this: If it says connect to carrier or something such as contact them or anything other than the screenshot then it's probably not unlockable. This is the way it looks on a Google bought unlocked device. TM or ATT might have other sayings but you need to be able to flip the switch or you will not be able to bootloader unlock and root.

Seller would need to enable developer options: Settings > About Phone > tap Build Number 8 times
Then go into developer options: Settings > System > Developer Options
If OEM Unlocking toggle is available, bootloader can be unlocked.
If it is grayed out and not toggle-able, bootloader cannot be unlocked.
Go to this website. https://www.verizon.com/od/prepaid/bring-your-own-device/
Enter your IMEI there. If it's not a Verizon branded device it'll say "NON- VZW device" or say it's not compatible

You can't just say that with no proof and think anyone will take it seriously. So prove it, we're all ears.2
Time to put up or... well you know. Posts like these will send new users on a wild goose chase attempting to gain root/bootloader unlock on their devices purchased from Verzion and end with them being unhappy that they can't.
