Guide to install Q GSI on Xiaomi Redmi 5​

Requirements

• Xiaomi Redmi 5 (ofc) with 30% charge minimum
• 20mins of time
• Patience
• Brain
• Pixel Experience for Xiaomi Redmi 5 - link
• Erfan's Ported GSI (A-only) - link
• Zygote Fix - link
• Permissiver V2 - link
• Bootloop fix by ataberk.ozen (MacTavishAO) - link
• Media Fix - soon

How to install ?

• After downloading all required files, extract the Q gsi .7z file and move everything to internal storage
• then install TWRP from above link
• Now wipe all including vendor
• Go ahead and Install My Pixel Experience CAF build
• Then go to advance wipe
• Wipe system, cache , dalvik cache , data (don't wipe vendor or internal storage)
• Then install the extracted GSI
• Now mount system and vendor
• Install all the provided fixes one by one
• Now Reboot
• Finally you are ready to enjoy Q DP1 on your Rosy

BUGS

• Vendor mismatch
• Camera
• Flashlight
• Cant set screen lock
• cant connect to secure wifi
• Very laggy UI
• Cant intsall gms apk
• The most horrible bug is after every reboot all your data is wiped(not internal storage)

I just tested this GSI for 5mins and found the following bugs you may find more bugs so if you find any new buy tell i will add it here

I am on the CAF based, so only install GSI Q? Will the Orange Fox TWRP works? I used it to get Pie PE

I has error 20 when installing Pie Gapps pico (something 9.0 vs 7.1.2). Then it start to android Q (voila) but show error: Android System: There's an internal problem with your device. Cannot access internal storage. Try to repeat procedures

Finally I made it. Repeat from installing Gapps. Now I have Q. Missing Pixel Expeience interface. Hope to get it soon

The Q beta is smooth. But as Shreejoy Dash mentioned, the camera is not working, even mod camera apks. Network signal bar is weak vs Pie PE. And the Pixel Experience UI is not integrated so I am missing it. Have to use Pixel launcher. No pill home button, only three classic 3 buttons. Dark mode is show but not working. Magisk is maybe not available for Q.
Bluetooth works. Light sensor is not so the automatic brightness is not working.

The reason is its basically not Q at exact its AOSP master its means the base is completely that which you will see in Q but most of the UI elements are same as old
Its better to wait for Q developer preview to come out once its out Erfan will port it out for us

I am enjoying Q on the cheapo Redmi 5. Fingerprint reader is lightning fast. But trusted face option for face unlock could not be found. Especially root is not available. I read on Twitter that John Wu has rooted Q, but all available Magisk v18.2 are failed to root

The alpha Q is missing some important components: mobile hot-spot, VOLTE and digital well-being. The Digital Wellbeing is available on Google Playstore, but it is not show in app draw. Other Q alpha show link to enable it in setting/privacy but this GSI on my Rosy doesn't have this link. This rom is also not include the great DIRAC sound which available in Pixel Experience Pie CAF. So I have to use Dolby Digital V6.0 magisk module to boost sound. The DTS magisk modules on xda both lead to bootloop.

Basically in proper words its not even Q its base is Q but most of theming is based on P and they removed some things from this as they may remove it or modify it in future with Q
