Wow thanks sony. But I bought my z on UK launch day. I find it a tad ironic that when I upgrade in march, it will be before my z gets lollipop! But awesome after service. They really didn't need to upgrade the Z again, but thumbs up for doing so!

They have to keep us on the hook until their cycle gives us a phone work upgrading to! Or we would get a Nexus 6 or what ever Flagship gets L first.

they really had to call for the update, all the "then" flagships(Nexus5, S4, G2...) are getting the 5.0 update, it would be bad for them not to follow

i already got stung once with a crappy sony device, but i gave them one more chance, at least their flagships are good, but i would never again buy a cheaper(mid or low-range) Sony...


The question now is, WHEN will the update come

Can't agree more, i've just cancelled my Z3 order.

Kudos to Sony, this is the way to go.

Yeah, I thought my xperia z wouldn't get anymore update. Kudos to sony.
Now my xperia z will stand another year.

All flagships since Sony Xperia Z was extended to support for 2 years from 18 months.. This is the reason why Xperia Z is getting Android L.. Plus XZ is the most sold Xperia ever, so extra update means more hpy customers and more loyal customers... This is a very pleasant surprise and this just made my day..

Its great but I just bought a z1 thinking xz won't be updated to 5.0 lol oh well got 2 z range phones now

As long as they won't start to remove devices from the list in the future and we will actually get the update,then, this is good news. Let's hope it's not just an advertising trick. Time will tell i guess.
