For what it's worth, the SD810 with 3GBs of RAM is the same that my Nexus 6p has and it's the smoothest phone I've ever used. Side by side with the HTC 10 I owned for a bit that has the 820 and 4 gigs of RAM the HTC was sluggish by comparison. Same with note 7.
I'm not saying the Bolt wont be smooth, as I know it is....I just don't like the idea of buying a new model phone w/ specs from 2 yrs ago, especially when the HTC 11 (or whatever it will be called) is less than 6 months out. For the average user, especially those that don't look at specs, this phone will be great.

well for 300$ I did it.
Fumbling the keyboard and can't hit the damn buttons to same myself. Couldn't resist some new hardware after being with Samsung so long I'm relearning this HTC.

Anyone flash su with the modded twrp and get supersu installed yet? Gonna get the kitchen loaded up and add the ruu. All the links are stock correct? I seen 1 for signed and 2 unsigned one being a removed recovery version.

Just making sure here. Thank you.

I guess I Gotta remove all this bloat and put a flashable up soon. Hehe

SuperSU doesn't flash properly. We need a rooted boot.img to fastboot flash. The data partition is encrypted. Once we get rooted boot.img I'll be able to continue the task of getting root and getting SuperSU to flash.

Same here, except mine is $10 a Month, but still a deal! Ran the M7 until I saw the 10 but waited. It's crazy how much Amazon crap is on these things.

any luck on getting the boot.img decrypted so su can be injected? really would love to get this device debloated and some stuff put out for it.
Ie- hotspot mod etc. and some tweaks.

coming over from samsung dev and im not sure what needs done to get su injected to the boot.img
of course the kitchen would touch it if i could get the mount points for internals etc but i need a good boot.img thats rooted for the roms.
sigh... looking like im gonna have to rock the note 5 for longer. hate to throw this on ebay and dump it but developments gonna be weak from the looks of it.

development will most likely be weak...twrp will eventually come, but in the meantime, @topjohnwu posted magisk autoroot for the HTC10, but has instructions how to manually root a boot.img on other devices.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/development/root-magisk-autoroot-magisk-phhs-t3507505

If you are using other bases, then grab your boot image from your OTA package, and follow the instructions:

Download "magisk+phh_arm64_cache.zip", "magisk_boot_patcher.zip", and unzip both
You should get "magisk_cache.img", and a folder with scripts and tools
Grab ANY rooted device >Android 5.0 to do the patching. Running the scripts on an unrooted device will create an unbootable boot image!
Follow the instructions in the README.txt of the tool, it shall guide you to patch your own boot image

I have almost the same deal. After the BF deal they gave me additional 25 percent off for being long term and loyal. I pay 6.50 a month. I also just sole my G7 Edge for 575.00. The edge was part of a long process that started with a note 3.

You've been using the Max for that long? Wow. I had to jump ship and get the N6 since there was no successor. The only reason I have to Bolt is because I wanted to try it out, but I'm spoiled as far as big phones go, so I'll probably switch to the V20 since there is no other carrier discounted option since the Note exited the scene.

Be careful with the LG devices. Locked and they have their
Own cons. Best to get a developer edition if anything.
After seeing the g4 and g3 failures and the flop g5 I lost any hope. That and they won't unlock their carrier devices now.

Just FYI for anyone using 64bit win. Make sure to run
The ruu using compatiblity mode win xp service pack 3.

It runs on 32bit fine.. Something with c++ runtime and 64bit not working right. Had to troubllshoot mine to run the ruu correctly.

I think you were trying to quote me lol. I had actually skipped the M7 and the Max then got the M8 a few months after it came out. After I replaced 2 charging boards and then it started shutting off at random times I Got the max at the beginning of this yr for $100

I've made a few boot.imgs for the Bolt.
All seem to boot without issue.
I decided to focus on boot and kernel work.

Dm-verity removed
Force encrypt - off
Sepolicy - patched.

Working on adb root and init.d and kernel adb.

Any of this help with what we are working towards? I ran into a damn hang up and got stuck with forced encryption and having to wipe to get back up.. Trying to stop this from happening again.

Gonna do a stock recovery MOD also. See how the recovery is accepting root and possibly move it to To system and see if it installs on boot with no extra process..

I haven't disabled forceencryption yet, when the HTC 10 was first released, there was signal issues when it was disabled...have u seen any issues? I may be interested in disabling just so I have access to /data when in twrp

yup// same here. lost fingerprint scanner and bars. had to reflash your rom overtop to get those things back but the boot.img is still the same. Maybe a issue with old info vs. new info?

just been playing around with it, but after a clean install, pushed the boot img then i flashed the new supersu zip.

fingerprint scanner is back and bars are back. got inti.d as well as adb by default on also (This screws up adb being on in settings / keep this off lol
not sure what the reprocussions will be but so far its looking promising.

looks like i was able to pull a rooted boot.img back off my phone after letting su patch and modify it with systemless. unsure if it can be included in the rom flash for su support on flash yet but its getting there.
