Also got the .H9 update. Still no 5.1.1

I'm pissed of with hTC for taking out one of the most useful features

Face unlock/ smart unlock with know face

Probably the last hTC for me (I think hTC will go bankrupt or be bought by someone else by the end of next year)

There is really no point in 5.1.1 it doesn't fix anything for us. Plus HTC did include most if not all the fixes/Memory leaks in 5.1.1

Face unlock sucks, it's so insecure. Unless you can measure 3d space you can use a printed picture to unlock the phone.

Is it possible to flash any of those files without erasing everything on the phone? Until now I always flashed the whole RUU. I'm currently on a rooted LMY470.H6 with Super-CID 11111111 and like to just do the update without deleting everything.

If your on the stock h6 ruu either wait for the update or download the update.zip and place on you sdcard. Boot into recovery and flash the update.zip, there is usually an option to update from update.zip

you don't have to root, just need to flash a custom recovery.

Attached is the Stock Recovery and TWRP. Put the files on the root of an ext sd rename the one you want to flash to 0p6bimg and boot into hboot and let it flash. So you can get TWRP on this way flash the face unlock and you'll be golden. If you want the stock recovery back then do the same with that file. Just know that all updates will fail rooted or not so the stock recovery will be pointless.

My apologies if this has been answered but I can't seem to find the answer. If I'm rooted and want to install the update.zip supplied by graffixnyc, how do I go about installing it? Trying from TWRP gives me an fingerprint error and trying to sideload from the stock recovery isn't possible because I don't have the option in the menu nor an option to update from ZIP.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like you already have a custom recovery installed so the easiest way is to just flash the stock rooted zip. There is absolutely no difference.

I was on the pre-rooted H6 ruu and was feeling brave this morning after I got the OTA notification. I used the permanently unroot feature in SuperSU, rebooted, and installed the OTA update with no issues..

I've never tried SuperSU's 'permanent unroot' feature before (I guess I didn't realize that was even there).

So after you did this, what did you have to do to re-root?

I am getting the dropout of cell connection randomly since I have RUU converted to GPE from Sense. I remember reading somewhere in this thread that what I need to do is fastboot flash the 1.54.401.5-W_Splash.zip to go back to sense firmware then I can reboot back into bootloader and go through the RUU update again from my sdcard to go back to GPE? I will be making a backup of my current install so i can just restore again after I convert so I don't have to go and reinstall all my apps and logins again.
