No, booted into android means just turn your phone on. And yes, you can use the rom.zip but only if you're s-off.The OP says to boot to Android. Is this Safe Mode?
Also, could I just flash the ROM zip through bootloader if I did not want to relock?
I'm not trying to be mean, but I went over this quite a few times.I am s-off. So flashing this, I will just loose root.
I like the bright red text. However, you forget literacy on the internet is something like .5 percent. Atleast make the text flash every .5 seconds!Updated some info in OP. If it is still unclear or if you think anything should be added, please let me know.
Thanks for the credit Viperboy! Even though I couldn't get it to work on windows 8... Do you still need to test the Linux version? Let me know I'll be glad to test it, thanks again for your dedication and for sharing your knowledge with us...Updated some info in OP. It should relock it, I will double check later. We'd want it to do that as an "RUU".I just wanted to be clear...so you are saying that my phone will no longer be rooted?
Just kidding...just rustling your feathers.
What I do want to clarify is that I have used this tool to restore some minor broken elements, and I can confirm that it does NOT relock your phone...at least...it doesn't leave it that way. So rooting is as simple as flashing a custom rom. Thanks again, Viper!

No, try restarting the program. It been performing pre update for about 20 minutes now. Is it supposed to take that long
I might say that I was mistaken, but I'm certain that I didn't have to use fastboot to unlock it.It should relock it, I will double check later. We'd want it to do that as an "RUU". .

I'm fairly certain you had to unlock it using fastboot due to the fact all s-off methods and root methods REQUIRE it.I might say that I was mistaken, but I'm certain that I didn't have to use fastboot to unlock it.

This program could just flash stock and leaves s-on (which is intended) so y'know...he can still flash custom ishIt should relock it, I will double check later. We'd want it to do that as an "RUU".

I'm not being rude, and trying not to come off that way, but I don't follow completely. I'm S-Off already. Are you thinking that I never unlocked? Because I know that I have before, but only twice. The first time to root, and the second time to go S-Off (after relocking, of course). After flashing Viper's tool, it said UNLOCKED on the bootloader. I haven't had the time to give the tool a second run to confirm.I'm fairly certain you had to unlock it using fastboot due to the fact all s-off methods and root methods REQUIRE it.Just letting you know. However, S-off and Unlocked are two different concepts.
