I strongly encourage all of you considering flashing this directly to instead use one of the many available ROMs based on this build instead. There is no reason to use the RUU exe itself unless you are a developer.

Definite common sense right there - this should be pinned in itself! :D

Tell me, I’m lost . . .

These test RUUs are relatively dangerous for the normal end user.

And that's exactly the reason why its not the smartest thing to share it to the open. Also that's why most devs keep it few days to see if its not bricking devices in the beta test runs.

Nobody wants to be responsible for a massive bricking of devices after uploading a Test RUU.

So as a warning to all users who find this link. Please be carefull, better wait for the tested Roms from the devs ;)

edit: i see rmk beat me to it by also telling its better to use a Rom, made by a dev. thx ;)

I would just like to point out that these test RUU's are supposedly internel and are for people at HTC to test, this means that it must not carry too much chance of brick otherwise why would HTC bother packaging it in an RUU EXE? Also the people who test it wouldn't be happy and neither would HTC because they would have to replace the bricked sensations

Wow, original RUU from htc will brick devices and everything else modified by people actualy not working for htc will not? Very strange analogy....

Anyway, thanks Baad for this, I'm always flashing original RUU's than I flash custom rom.

I had RUU_PYRAMID_ICS_HTC_Europe_3.06.401.1_Radio_11.59. 3504.00U_11.16.3504.16_M_test_231341.exe superCID + root, but a week later got a little ill to work today and I put RUU_PYRAMID_LE_ICS_35_S_HTC_Europe_3.12.401.102_Ra dio_11.65.3504.00U_11.19.3504.29_2_test_233434, thanks baadnewz, root, I think was because I started delete system applications SystemApp Remover 3.0, this is much better than the previous ruu
thanks again baadnewz

I manage to install this release on classic Sensation. Super CID is the only requirements.
Fast, very fast compared with past leaked rom with Android 4.0.1.
Stable, at least how much I played with it...not a single problem.
Still a small problem: with some Device Policy software, under Security you cannot find the option to install unsigned applications. So, some more work needs to be invested here.

One question: why Beats doesn't kick in for FM Radio also? It sounds great on mp3s but it would be better to have it on radio too...

I appreciate I am still new to this sort of thing, but to me the RUU files would appear to be the safer option when compared to custom built ROMs?

The RUU, while I accept it's a development firmware, is created by the phone's manufacturer for the handset in question. The custom firmware is developed by a third party. While I accept that neither come with a warranty and that you install either at your own risk it would seem that considering the above that the RUU would be the safer one surely?

The way I play it is that I tend to read a few posts and see if anyone's bricked their handsets with an RUU. If not I install it and take the chance. I reckon I've got just the same amount of chance as problems with a custom ROM as I have this RUU.

If anyone's a Drop Box user this RUU has a nice bonus!

I had a standard 2Gb account with Drop Box. I installed this RUU on my standard Sensation. All my Apps auto reinstalled as usual and I started the process of adding my accounts to things like Facebook, email and of course Drop Box.

A minute or so after logging in to my Drop Box account on my Sensation I got a pop up message on the task bar of my laptop stating that my Drop Box account had just been upgraded to 5Gb.

This RUU appears to give you the free 5Gb upgrade on Drop Box that HTC set the agreement up for in the past.

Rather chuffed :D
