Quick hint;
If you actually get the network up, but keeps disconnecting, this usually helped me (after figuring out that reboots take way too much time);
In 'network settings', switch 'Use 2G networks only' first on and then off.
When you switch that thing, the network disconnects and then reconnects, sort of like a reboot, but only for the network, not the entire phone :p
Even works on CM10 and 10.1 :D
Helped me, hope that helped you :D

The problem is not that. First time u boot ur device means u will get full signal.. 2g mod or 3g mod. No matter. If u just reboot ur device means matter over.. No signal.. After a 5 to 6 (even more) reboots its came back....

Can't install CM9 on Xperia SL (LT26ii)

Hi guys,

if someone could help me, I would appreciate it. Now to the issue. First, I have a Xperia SL (LT26ii) with official Firmware ICS [LT26ii_4.0.4_6.1.A.2.55_Arabic].

- I installed fastboot and flashmode drivers for my Xperia SL.
- I unlocked bootloader officially.
- Then I downloaded [FXP216-cm-9-20130419-UNOFFICIAL-nozomi] because you say in your devices list that it fits for Xperia S (LT26i) and Xperia SL (LT 26ii). Of course, I download gapps for CM9, too. I copy both to sdcard.
- I unzip boot.img and flash it to my phone correctly using fastboot.
- I boot into recovery.
- I install zip from sd card

It aborts, saying following:

Installing: /sdcard/FXP216-cm-9-20130419-UNOFFICIAL-nozomi.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Installing update...
assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device") == "
LT26i || getprop("ro.product.device) == "LT26i"
|| getprop("ro.product.device") == "nozo
mi" || getptop("ro.build.product") == "nozomi"
E: Error in /sdcard/FXP216-cm-9-20130419-UNOFFICIAL-nozomi.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

Now, I can't boot into the system anyway and have to flash the official ROM again.

I have other phones where the installation of CM9 worked perfectly. Here it won't work for me and I don't know the reason, cause I did everything as stated.

Can somebody help here???

Use flash tool to flash the kernel (and therefore recovery) from the cm9 rom - then you will be able to flash the rom from the recovery...or you can edit the script in the rom and remove the check for name....

He already did that, without flashtool... (And for that, Sir, I applaud you!)

Pro tip of the 22nd century;
Install TWRP with GooManager (an app on Play) (when on a rooted ROM).
There is no need to flash the boot image separately, the recovery automatically flashes it for you...

And there's always issues with flashing things on a 2012 Xperia.
You really need to wipe everything (not the sdcard), and to really have no trouble, do this;
Wipe everything (optional reboot after), then flash. Then reboot, flash gapps, reboot into system.
This way, the least possible time (and your brain cells) is needed.

Hope that helped :D

Can you explain step 3 with a little bit more details? From where should I remove the top lines? Do you mean FXP216-cm-9-20130419-UNOFFICIAL-nozomi.zip? If yes, which top lines? Where do I find them?

Please stand by me, so that I can use this wonderful CM9.1 on my Xperia SL!

Ughhh, do you have twrp?
If not, get that, wipe everything, reboot into recovery, flash ROM, reboot, flash gapps, reboot into your newly acquired cm9.

If you already have twrp, either do what I told you to do or, if that doesn't work, go top the ROM zip and delete the lines in the updater-script (inside the META-INF folder, open with notepad++) that are on the very top of the text file.

Hope that helps, if it doesn't, XDA people are always here to help -- pm me or another active member :)

Open "META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script" with wordpad in downloaded ZIP and alter delete first 2 lines
Code:
assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "LT26i" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "LT26i" ||
       getprop("ro.product.device") == "nozomi" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "nozomi");

then save changed updater-script into zipfile
reboot phone into recovery
use "install zip from sideload" :)

Quick question for all of you;
I'm trying to unpack the kernel from this ROM (FXP 216), but I keerp getting errors that the Android header wasn't found. Any program I use in any OS gives me this (or something similar).
Another issue is 'compression: unknown'. Specifically, it says that when unpacking the ramdisk.

Does anyone have any idea whatsoever about what's happening here?
Is the build I downloaded old and buggy or even incomplete and is that why that happens? Or, is every Nozomi kernel like that?

Thanks to everyone for any info :D

    Stable version will come when Sony releases 3.x kernel sources. Until this happens we have freezed the code. Many things are already fixed in background but without phone functions its no need to run the rom.
    After the copyleft is out we can fix modem and then we resume this ROM.
