Question S.. my OP3 Screen Shattered. Thinking on the OP9 for 320us$

pretty much the tittle, after having my Oneplus 3 for 6 years and still being happy with it, an accident happened and the crystal shattered, it lasted about a month with the crystal broken but was functional until I had it in my pocket with my earbuds and well the screen died :c . looks like screen replacement are super trash so I would like to upgrade once and for all.

The Oneplus 9 its on Amazon US for 320$ (NEW) which after a bit or research I just cant find any other phone as good as the OP9 at around that price. maybe someone here can recommend something about other phones or about the OP9 itself. Is it realistic to keep this phone for at least 3 years?

Very good CPU SD888
Camera Capable or 1080p+60fps Video
USF 3.1 + USB 3.1
Fast Charging
Still getting Official updates

Things I don't like

No headphone jack :c
Rounded edges (not too bad, I just really like square edges like the Iphone 13 for example)
No OIS for simpler photos
A little bit on the thick side

Yes, you should go for it. There is plenty of support and custom ROM development for this device. Make sure you buy the LE2115 variant which is Global/NA. Avoid LE2117 which is T-Mobile.

If you can go for OnePlus 9 Pro that would be even better, however, it has curved LCD screen which I don't like. Other that that, Pro is definitely a better choice.

Don't you have to wait for unlock token for bootloader unlocking? And what about converting to Global and other hassles?

What do you want me to say? Acquiring a token is a common rooting method that isn't just a OnePlus thing and goes back a two decades. It is a legit, official way to root your phone that OnePlus provides, for you.

You paint it as a negative? So again I ask you: what do you want me to say?

How about:
LE2117 is not an issue... it requires getting a token, waiting a week to a couple, and running one fastboot command. Congrats, your BL is officially unlocked, from a token provided by the people who made your phone.

Second, you dont have to convert to global, and you can run rooted Tmobile branded (if thats your thing), which you cannot do without a token... Converting to global is a one click tool, and might now even be necessary anymore. It only was, afaik, because global had newest base which Tmobile now has.

Literally the only thing you need to keep in you head is dont touch anything related to India firmware etc for the phone.
