fastboot detection fails every time...

So I have tried connecting several different cables to all three USB ports on my computer. All of them are able to connect to adb through command prompt, but when I load into the bootloader, select fastboot, and then connect to the same slots that detected the adb, command prompt shows a blank. I know that it's connected cuz my phone says FASTBOOT USB.

I have uninstalled HTC Sync, installed all the latest drivers, have all of the SDK stuff and tried running moonshine. I get to the part where it tries to connect to fastboot and it times-out and tells me to fix it. I have literally spent the past hour looking through the first 20 pages of this forum. I apologize if the answer was there and I missed it or if it's in the later pages, but I would really like some help with this. Thanks ahead of time for your time and consideration.

ADB has failed

I get to this point:

Test 1: Rebooting into bootloader
Waiting for fastboot (7/120)
Waiting
[PJ7510000-2.09.0000]
Test 2: Booting device
Waiting for ADB (80/120)
Device detected.....................
ERROR: ADB failure
Press ENTER to exit

and the program shuts down. In order for my phone to be detected by adb I have to wait for it to boot all the way then I have to switch it from file transfer mode to disk device mode. It says my phone is detected then gives me an error. Any suggestions?

Some, Where
Just my luck. My computer shut off while it was shining and now my phone is stuck in the bootloader. Every time I try to reboot it goes straight back into bootloader. Please help!

Edit: Never mind, I got it. I just did the HTC DEV bootloader unlock and it fixed everything

I downloaded Windroid toolbox and had that install all the Drivers, Moved ADB files to same place as distiller.exe, and after a million failes, moved to my girlfriends windows 7 laptop, Wouldn't work on my Windows 8 or 8.1 Machines.. Just let it sit

Is there a way to set the phone to mount as a disk to default? I can't get past step 3 and every time I try and change the USB settings from Sync Manager to Disk Drive from the Notification bar the distiller.exe stops and tells me to close it.

I looked into my options and I don't see anywhere to change the USB settings.

Thanks in advance

problem i was having is that adb couldnt find device. my solution was to uncheck/recheck usb debugging and adb finally worked with program to see device. could try that and see if it works.

thanks for the tool. finally s-off.

Moonshine and no no phone reception

Moonshine completed all of it's steps but now that the phone is s-off I can not get it to activate. When I try it just spins and does nothing. When I install CM 10.1.3 it installs fine but the same thing, no phone functionality. I can use wifi and bluetooth but I can not get the phone to activate. I restored from my nandroid and still it will not activate. It was working fine before the moonshine and my backup that I am using was from before moonshine. On CM it won't even show my phone number in the about phone. I have even tried manually generating the apns to no avail. I have no experience with Sprint phones, so I don't know why I have to "activate" to use it? Anyone?

If the baseband number is unknown in setting, you could try flashing the latest baseband, even if it doesn't say unknown, it wouldnt hurt to try.

I finally got it to work and I was:

HBOOT 2.09.0000
Radio 1.13.11.0830
Software 3.17.651.4

Best method to get this to work flawlessly is install WinDroid HTC EVO 4G LTE Toolkit 2.0

Do the HTCdev bootloader unlocker 1st. It will erase everything!

Install the TWRP Recovery

Install SuperSU v1.93 from recovery.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053

Reboot

If you dialed ##3424# earlier or see DM Command Service you need to press Menu and Disable it.

You do not want to disable on the phone HTC Sync Manager cause it will disable DEBUGGING.

Ignore the USB connection type as long as DEBUGGING is enabled.

You well be asked for ROOT access during the process and it might fail the 1st time around but it will work the next time as long as it remembers it.

It would appear that you used the Rumrunner method, not Moonshine (just want to clarify since you posted in the Moonshine thread).

I was thinking the same thing. I want able to get moonshine to work on hboot 2.09. Rumrunner worked great though.
