i think what happened with me is after running moonshine for so long, it was supposed to reboot at some point and go on tto moonshining 2, but my phone wouldn't wake, so it might me a good idea to set the screen to remain on while plugged in and disable power saver, because after i hit the power button it rebooted went through moonshining 2-3-4 really fast and rebooted after each step and was done then. S-OFF.

ALSO ANOTHER THING I NOTICED on their download page the 1.29.651.7 and 1.29.651.10 are reversed if you select the latter it downloads the 1.29.651.7 they are backwards, at least for me they where, unless they changed it, make sure to check your download.
You could be right. Well either way it's complete now. And yes I too noticed the download links were backwards for the Sprint ones.

I just got s-off from rev, but for splash screen I need the moonshine hboot. So does this mean I have to follow this method now to achieve that ?

Thank you so much guys for your hard work, i have been looking forward to this since this phone came out. I had to reteach myself on some of the ways of Ubuntu to get this going and setup SDK, but all in all things went very smoothe, alitlle hang up at the end where i thought i would have to do it all over again but when i look at my bootloader it says im golden.. time to put this to work now.

again guys thanks alot for everything and all your hard work, glad to have yall apart of the HTC DEV Team

Most I've seen are just asking compatibility questions. As long as they aren't bashing one vs the other I don't think it's a huge deal.

For anyone trying this you can just download the 32 bit version of ubuntu here. Unibootin to install the iso on a flash drive. Mine was fat32 formatted so most standard drives will work. I emptied it before just in case. Download here. Boot from your flashdrive and click the live option. I'm using d3rprom (newest base) and it had debugging enabled but developer options disabled. I found out later on even if it was checked when developer options was disabled you still need to toggle it once you enable developer options. Unfortunately I only tried this after installing ADB so I don't know what fixed it. When I ran the distiller script but ADB failed. You can open up the software center and search for synaptic (synaptic package manager will pop up). You don't actually need to install it but hitting install enables the "Universe" repo. Once this is done you can close out the software center app. Go back to terminal and install ADB by typing "sudo apt-get install android-tools-adb". After that's done type "adb devices" and you should see a device id (as long as it's not blank you're fine). At this point I ran the distiller again and it worked.

Side note thanks to Aldo101t for his post here. For some reason the installer is getting stuck (yes I turned off fast boot in the battery options). After doing moonshine (1) for about 15 minutes (black screen charging light on) I figured it broke so I rebooted it. Yes the installer said not to touch it but the page said 5-10 minutes. Then after it went into moonshine (2) so I figured it had restarted. Then I found Aldo's post so after another 10 minutes I hit the power button again. Then it rebooted by itself for Moonshine 3-5. After the script finished it said
"WTF: What are you doing?" It did say to not touch the phone so I don't know if it's a joke or if it's meant to spit that out if you manually power the phone like I did. Either way the bootloader is S-off now.

edit: Wifi broke after. It wouldn't start so I reflashed the rom and it worked fine after.

Welcome to moonshine S-OFF. Enjoy.

Important windows notes:

1.) make sure htc sync is uninstalled
2.) make sure adb and fastboot drivers are working
3.) make sure htc sync is uninstalled
4.) if you are having problems with fastboot, try a usb 2.0 port.
5.) make sure htc sync is uninstalled
6.) make sure other programs that interfere with and fastboot are uninstalled (PDANet, Kies, etc.)
7.) make sure htc sync is uninstalled
8.) if you use a third party firewall, be sure to grant access to distiller.exe as it checks for updates
9.) MAKE SURE HTC SYNC IS UNINSTALLED
10.) YOU MUST UNZIP THE ARCHIVE BEFORE RUNNING DISTILLER. DO NOT JUST TRY TO RUN IT FROM THE ARCHIVE.

Downloads available at: http://moonshine.io

I had trouble with that to. When my phone booted up moonshine wasn't picking up the adb part so I unplugged the phone while it was booting and then plugged it back in once it was fully booted, it should work after that

its just sitting on the Bootloader screen searching are you saying to unplug it then or while its rebooting to get to that screen
