If you want s-off, you have to pay. Simple as that.

But why do need (or think you need) s-off?

Most folks don't need s-off. You don't need s-off to root, flash custom ROMs, kernels, and a great many other things.

s-off is only needed for specific things, such as changing CID/MID, flashing modified hboots, etc.
