Hi Condi,

My tablet S is US wifi only I updated it to 4.0.3R5 from 3.2.1 by your AIO tool prerooted FW. Now, my tablet S is on 4.0.3R5 rooted. So, is it possible to update my table to R5A with rooted by your instruction in this thread?

And may i know what the different between R5 and R5A? Can R5 fix the wifi problem ( i cannot wifi at my home with R5, although the tablet show connected and got the IP but i could not access any website???) and google play problem ( i tried to use google play mod in AIO tool after i rooted my tablet, after that could not buy paid app in google play )

And which tool is better between this FASHER tool and this one "

Did u have root now? If u want easy one click root , v2.4 is fit for u , by the way , if u leaven somthing or add on other , 5.3 AiO is better, but not sure u can root the device at one time

No, i haven't flash yet. My tablet still on 4.0.3 R5 rooted with prerooted FW. I also checked in Recovery mode and the Rev is in v36. Is it possible to update it to 4.0.3R5A and root with this Flasher tool?

Yup flasher writes directly to the tablet. It does not need 'good' recovery. So you will be sweet.

1. yes you can wipe/reset to factory settings - root will remain
2. you've got rev.30 (still adb enabled) recovery - no need to update.

I loos 3G after rooting with 5.3 AiO and flashing with 2.4 flasher my SGPT131E2/S. Now I have root and no vendor apps, they are not my pain, but want to use mobile net. Waiting for 2.5

That would be because 3G models only just came out.. and the Flasher is designed for WIFI only models...

Condi if you have some free time could you please add an Xperia 3G to the list

So, i read some threads here and decide to not OTA update my tab, coz on r6b can't get root.
1. Still on first firmware i get root with AiO - OK
2. "Successful" with no errors flashed r6b with 2.4 flasher.
3. Wow, this is not my rom, no 3g, no vendor apps. Vendor apps, ok - this problem is known. Continue reading threads, to find any solution to get back mobile connection, no luck
4. Decide on recovery flash this "ICS Release 6b - http://info.update.sony.net/ST003/txs03_350/contents/0002/signed-txs03_350-ota-121116014.zip" OTA firm +3g and stuck with this:

Write files to vendor1...
assert fajled: package_extract_dir2("vendor", "/datapp/vendor/vendor1", "1352999275")
E:Error in /tmp/desklunvr/desklunvr.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

5. OK, will try OTA, reboot, check for updates - i'm on last firmware - "No updates available". From SE x10i times i know about root and OTAs, then decide to unroot with AiO. Unroot ok. Check for OTA - same result. Try again "step" 4 above, same result - see "coded"

The final state:

Oops

no root => can't use flasher
AiO can't get root again after many attempts, try with Binary's method still no success
And this is not the end, "working" recovery, but without adb ;(

So, i need working recovery update.zip to tidy up this mess...

Flashing stock 6b and unrooting wasn't very clever.

Ask in the forum for v6 350 and try to flash it.
If you succeed root it with AiO.
Then you can load 6b in AiO, root it, init.d, etc. and flash it.

If at any time you decide to remove root first install voodoo root keeper and protect root.
Then you can restore root with voodoo if you haven't flashed a whole new firmware.

What a mess!!!

First try factory reset!
Im pretty sure flasher adds su as system. So its there after reset.

Secondly wait until Condi adds flasher for 3g! You will not be able to fix this yourself.

After every factory reset i gat clean r6b and no chance for root.
Will try to find and flash from recovery signed-txs03_350-ota-121005042.zip sugested by bg_man.

Your hidden weapon is great.
Full root is back.
Not only in adb shell. Symlink su to /xbin/su
ln -s /system/bin/su /system/xbin/su
and right permissions on superuser
chmod 0644 /system/app/Superuser.apk

Wait with pleasure v2.5 flasher now :fingers-crossed:


EDIT: PPP widget give me temp solution to use 3g mobile data on internal sim slot

I made a mistake when using FLASHER, I select FW for Tablet S flash on my Tablet P.

It now rooted but force close in settins/storage and can't show SD card.

When I try to reflash again it said can't mount my sd card.

Please help.:crying:
