I have flashed my Tablet S (wifi only) with big success. I had version R1a and kernel 2.6.39.4 and now I have version R5a and same kernel. Apparently Most of the apps remain perfect. Only one I have lost is the remote controller application that has desappeared.
I was trying to do it yesterday with S.onyTablet.S v5.3 [ALLinONE] but I wasn't able to.
So CONDI, I'm your fan from now on. Thanks for your great job!.
By the way, I don't know how to get that IR Remote controller app from Sony. Does anyone know how to get it?

This app should be on dataapp\vendor\vendor0 or vendor1 in app folder try to install it. Please test if in your case you can open walkman app. In walkman app equalizer, video app. If you havent any fc with that. or any from vendor folder.

Thanks biablo. I have installed both apps (I had lost walkman too) from the folder that you mention, but both crash when I open them. I have had to uninstall them.

Okay, so the more recent posts here would suggest that my attempt at flashing didn't go as expected. It did flash something, but I'm not sure what or where - it doesn't look like my kernel is updated (since I was already on R5) and my firmware release doesn't seem any different either. So I'm not sure what's up, and why the tablet isn't prompting me to update to R5a anymore... Weird all around - the process looked like it worked at every step.

@dmahon with no offence. I cant see nothing weird here. In /system you have build.prop. view this and explore infos from there. It should be r5a us. sgpt113 fw. Confirmed with sgpt111,112 tabs working. I have 111.
To people who dont know what this tool do - This tool flashes custom(rooted) r5a USA system and hidden image. Also upgrades vendor app vith vendor zip which consist of s.onys apps eg walkman, video, reader, ps .Since now problem is after flashing process of that zip. Everything works perfect except this vendor app which are lost or fc. I suggest to WAIT tbc fix of this issue. Sorry maybe its my fault cause I was beta tester. After flash all data and apps were same as before. This mistakes me. After few hours realized that problem.. so sorry. Just dont using it now and wait for fix.
Btw This is very good tool. It can flash mine previous system and hidden images.and have 111 previous build.

My build.prop shows only r5, just as system settings do.
I am aware of what the tool is supposed to do, my confusion is about what it DID do. It appeared to change or upgrade something, but everything is the same as before I ran it.

I do not believe that is correct. Condi's FLASH tool downloads and installs a WiFi+3G version of 4.0.3r5a and to the best of my knowledge, no WiFi+3G version has been released for US region.

The vendor.prop in vendor.zip that Condi's tool downloads says

ro.sony.sku.base=nbx03_016
ro.sony.build.id=TISU0163410
ro.sony.build.incremental=111104048

which indicates it is 4.0.3r5a WiFi+3G for Poland region.

Condi, is there a way to stop Sony controlling our devices?
I have noticed that Sony has been stopping binary from getting executed after the day that binary was working on system run time.
I assume it is from a Sony server or something.
If we can track any Sony server during that time then we can grab that URL and if you are rooted, you can use the hosts file to block that URL.
It can be extremely dangerous when Sony gets hold of the su binary on the rooted device which is just bad.

ADB INFO: I have tryed the APX mode reboot, recovery, bootloader and reboot but allcthe commands do is reboot the device which means Sony is blocking ADB even on system run time (Android system was running).

What kind of trouble will I get myself into if I were to modify your FLASHER tool to use the system.img, hidden.img, and vendor.zip (vendor folder zipped) files from your custom_prerooted_doubleFLASH_R5A_nbx03_001-ota-121116036.zip file instead of using the files your FLASHER tool downloads?

What I want to achieve is to have 4.0.3r5a US WiFi Only installed on my tablet instead of 4.0.3r5a Poland WiFi+3G which your tool installs. I also want to have System Utility rev 10 (r1a's recovery) installed instead of rev 36.

BTW, while I was looking at the downloaded vendor.zip, I noticed that your Windows OS added a desktop.ini file to all of subfolders in vendor.zip. These desktop.ini files were installed on my tablet in the subfolders of /datapp/vendor/vendor0 and /datapp/vendor/vendor1. I deleted them.

I use this flash, but have some bug, my device after root,they when reboot , that must can't , just hold at Sony logo only, and some default app is lost , and I have just feel some different...
This flash tool will updare to 1.1 ?
