Tried again with the latest version - all the updated firmware links for R5A wifi only were broken, so no downloads. Tried them in a browser, all 3 said files no longer existed. I pulled the old links (which still worked fine) from the previous release and manually downloaded the files.

The flasher worked like it normally does, did it's thing, and this time @ reboot it again said it was upgrading something, so I was excited that maybe it had finally worked. Once it was done, though, I was still on the same firmware as before. It looks like all it upgraded was switching me back to the correct region or something, maybe, now that the wifi-only version is available? The OTA update to R5A now shows up as available again, and the 'unlimited" apps came back. Other than that, everything else is the same.

So I don't know what's going on - I don't think there's anything wrong with the flasher, I don't think I'm doing anything wrong, but for some reason it just doesn't work for my tablet. It's clearly talking to it, doing something, making some changes, but those just don't include updating the firmware.

I'd love to hear any suggestions at this point?

I need stock att tablet p wifi/3g 3.2.1 honeycomb firmware

Hello condi,
I used the flasher tool to try and update my US att 3g tablet p to ICS. I was on stock version 3.2.1. I was already rooted so when I ran the flasher tool everything looked ok until I rebooted. I was soft bricked and had rbg color lines all over my screen after I rebooted. I found a link with US 3.2 firmware and downloaded and flashed from my sd card with stock recovery. I was able to boot up now, but now I have lost root and cant flash anything with the flasher tool. i did some research and found that the 3.2 firmware is not rootable? is this correct? so i was asking if you knew where i could download stock AT&T HC 3.2.1 so I can root with the all in one tool and update to 4.0.3 with your flasher tool? I can only flash through stock recovery right now since i cant root so if you know how i can get back to 3.2.1 so I can root and start over please let me know. I tried the url finder tool and it didn't find any firmware for me. i also checked on the xda firmware list and all of the links to 3.2.1 have been removed. I have also tried to do an OTA to 3.2.1 update on the tablet p through settings and it doesn't find anything. Any help you can give would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

You will be very lucky to find the 3.2.1 for US tab P. You wen the wrong way about it. You should have changed region to a different one using AiO then flashed a ICS r1a for example that is rootable.

But the damage is done now, I suggest you find members with US tab P and pleed for the file. It is very hard to find :(
If you do find please share the link, I will then also upload so we have a few copies available :D

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news

P.S It probably failed due to being flashed from such an old fw

Well that stinks. Thanks for the reply though. I tried to change region with 3.2, but of course its too late now since everything you do requires root and of course I cant root anymore. So I am pleading with any US 3G tab P owners that can upload a 3.2.1 Honeycomb firmware. Not sure if there are any reading this thread, but its worth a shot. Here is the error I get when I try to root the older 3.2

I'm at this moment flashing my sony tablet s, but I'm not sure which is the correct option. Can someone help me please?
You are installing 4.0.3r5a, so:

Choice 1 will install Android System Recovery (Rev.36).
This is the version of recovery that comes with 4.0.3r5a. This version disables rooting via recovery mode,

Choice 2 will install Android System Recovery (Rev.30) from 4.0.3r1a.
This may or may not work depending on the existing version of Android installed, but is my recommended choice.

Choice 3 will not install either; instead, it will leave the exisiting Android System Recovery installed.
Not recommended if existing recovery is Android System Recovery (Rev.7) or (Rev.10).

Do you notice anything unusual during the process? We're obviously in a minority of people who this doesn't work for, but I haven't been able to identify any specific factors that would cause the difference... I know if I tell it to update the recovery image, it takes about half a second and then says it's done (which maybe suggests to me that the tablet is blocking the firmware writes somehow, but the flasher tool thinks they're working?)

You're on R1A and it doesn't work, I have R5, so it's probably not the firmware version and how we got it (which I was a bit worried about)

How did you root your device? AiO, or the other root trick?
