Find String...I downloaded V 6.5 and it won't run as it says there's an update to version 16.3 available. I added the file to bypass the update check and am now seeing an error message of:
'findstr' is not recognized as an internal or external command.
operable program or batch file.
I'm on Win 7 64-bit. I saw someone posted a year ago about this but the fix they posted isn't clear to me (the convo starts at post #301). They stated there was "a missing ; in the PATH variable." Where am I adding a semi-colon? Is it in the .bat file? Is there a line number?
I'm new to rooting the Sony Tablet S, but not new to rooting Android. Is this the preferred tool for rooting this tablet? I'm on R5A. Lastly, I remember looking at rooting this tablet a looong time ago but there were posts about rooting it breaking the IR blaster. Is this still the case?
EDIT: I ended up copying findstr.exe into C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_30\bin and that fixed the findstr error message.
EDIT 2: That was all it took. I'm rooted and everything appears to be working just fine. Thanks much!
Strange that it occurred, all least that is solved.
