Hi All,

I've made a root with this tool and everything seems to be fine, but I still can't delete some APKs from system folder, neither to install there. I just get the Permission denied message. Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance!!
You need to have R/W access in the system partition and have root access granted.
What are you using to delete?

I guess R/W granted once ES Explorer is requesting su permissions, I see its being granted (pop-up message at the moment of ES Explorer start). Or is it something that is different from just a root access?

I downloaded V 6.5 and it won't run as it says there's an update to version 16.3 available. I added the file to bypass the update check and am now seeing an error message of:

'findstr' is not recognized as an internal or external command.
operable program or batch file.

I'm on Win 7 64-bit. I saw someone posted a year ago about this but the fix they posted isn't clear to me (the convo starts at post #301). They stated there was "a missing ; in the PATH variable." Where am I adding a semi-colon? Is it in the .bat file? Is there a line number?

I'm new to rooting the Sony Tablet S, but not new to rooting Android. Is this the preferred tool for rooting this tablet? I'm on R5A. Lastly, I remember looking at rooting this tablet a looong time ago but there were posts about rooting it breaking the IR blaster. Is this still the case?

EDIT: I ended up copying findstr.exe into C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.6.0_30\bin and that fixed the findstr error message.

EDIT 2: That was all it took. I'm rooted and everything appears to be working just fine. Thanks much!

I am having this problem as well...but i dont understand your steps on how to fix it 0.0

I am currently on a rooted Sony Tablet S r5a .
I want to factory reset my device without loosing root, how can I do this?
If there is no way, can anyone tell me if this tool can root r5a?

It is safe to factory reset, you will have to either reinstall SuperSU or go to the SuperSU settings and make it a system app so in every wipe it will not go.

The SU binary will still be there so you will be still rooted, a factory reset does not erase any files in /system what so ever so you are safe.

All you have to do is select the root option, connect your device to the PC and press enter, I would use v6.4 since v6.5 is by ken when it comes to root.

I have 4.0.3 (release 5a) what would be my benefits to rooting at this point in time? are there any roms for our original Tablet S?

You can overclock, get Xposed Framework, use root applications, modify build.prop and MUCH more.
Search on Google for what is root useful for.

There is NO custom ROMs for the S1 since the bootloader is locked.

Yeah, some devices are like that, not sure if it is to do with the kernel disallowing the ability to go above 1GHz...

Yeah its the kernel you need to have a costume kernel to overclock sinc you need higher voltages to change the frequencys over the 1ghz
