A call to all Linux Users

Hello again,

With condi's permission, i've started to port his wonderfull AiO to be used on Linux OS.

The connection to the Tablet S itself is not included for now, but you can later use this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327139 to do so.

But the real motive of this post is that i need a feedback from potential users:
1 - Do you want packaging with a maximum 2 days delay from condi's release? Or can I use a GIT repo?

2 - Is it REALLY necessary to include wget (or a verificationof it existance) with the script?

3 - How about xterm?

4 - Are there any tools that you would think should be included? (adb for linux will be included for both x86 and x86_64 for those without 32bits libs)

I'll apreciate any feedback.

Hi my friend,

maybe I found a issue in the decrypted and pre-rooted update.zip

Today I did a deeper look into the zip file and was a little bit confused regarding the su file. I would expect it in the 'xbin' folder, but found it in 'bin' folder. Why?

The busybox file was placed correct in 'xbin' folder.
Could it be, that there is a typo in your script?

The update.zip was created with an older version of your script.
Maybe the issue is solved in the current version.
Could you double-check it please?

No thats not a typo. Its not important if su is located in bin or xbin.
Both of the directories are included in PATH variable.
So for example when you will write 'su' in shell - it will be found.
Thats not an issue.

The same goes with busybox.
We (users) decide where to install it.
xbin dir has got only few binaries by default.
So for me 'better' is to install busybox there.

Could this the reason for loosing root in my case?
No. Don't search for a mistake by other users, just take a closer look what you've done.

Thanks for the clarification Condi.

I know that both folders are in PATH .. but original su was located in 'xbin', so I was a little bit confused and it could be, that a superuser update (incl. su file) will try to update the su binary in 'xbin' but is located in 'bin'.

In worst case we will have to su files on our tablet, one in 'xbin' one in 'bin' and this could end in a issue. That do you think about this ?

AFAIK superuser app should also detect where su is located.
Just try to run 'busybox installer' free app from market - it also
detects where current busybox is installed.

Thats not a problem :)

Thanks for reporting. Could you please give more info about it?
Device cant be seen = you mean its not recognized in device manager?
Maybe you could make screenshot of v2.5 problem?
I'd like to know what is the source of your problem, and fix it :)
