I have follow the instruction on first page.
I only get 153MB custom update.zip , is that normal?
Final step, flash the custom update signed.zip, I got
"E:prohibit update as a result of checking version or base sku
Installation Aborted."
PS: I already change the region to US.

Just to check, How long should applying the rescue backdoor take? Its been well over 5 minutes and its hanging on the second line of modifying build.prop

Anyone who has tried and failed with the update, make sure you wipe the hack_recovery from the SD card AND the PC.

1- Download US ICS FIRMWARE from post #1 here.

2- Copy it to external SD,

2- Download, install and run v2.7 AiO (also in post #1)- goto 'Custom Rom' submenu, choose '1 - Decrypt Update' function, but !STOP! when it asks if you want to root etc.

3- Now, copy the decrypted zip from the SD card to the _decrypted folder in the All in One folders. Either by pulling the chip or whatever. Once this is done, put the card back in and run '2 - add root etc'. Let this run, tell it yes to signing.

4-Once this has all finished, copy the custom_update_signed.zip from pc directory - '_signed' to external SD. At this point, I cleaned the SD card of all other files bar the hack recovery and the custom zip.

5- Run '4 - Disable recovery signature..' function from AiO, follow AiO tool instructions,

6- After '_hack_recovery' choose 'custom_signed_update.zip', wait for finish!
This did it for me. Step 3, copying decrypted file from SD to AIO _decrypted folder.

Thanks!

@kakit526 I tried condi's method and meelouw without any luck. I keep getting 152 MB custom update and the base sku error. :(
I have "ro.sony.sku.base=nbx03_035" and I think this is the main cause of the problem.

No it's not, as Condi reply to me the file must have ~233MB, to have that you need to have a decrypted file with the same size and you must copy manually from SDcard2 to "_decrypted" folder in your PC.

See the step 3 of procedure by TheHurf

No the custom update signed zip should not be only 152 MB...it should be roughly the same size as the original zip file (about 230-250 MB...cann't remember exact number). If it isn't this big then something messed up in the process and don't try and flash the zip file.

I found it helpful to monitor what AiO was doing. For example when it said it was decrypting the update I opened up the S.ony Tablet.S [ALLinONE] v2.7/_decrypted folder on my PC to see the file growing in file size until it got to the expected file size and stopped. Same thing when the tool is supposed to be signing the zip file I monitored the _signed directory to watch the process to see that ended up at the right file size.

Since the zip-files created in this long process are all of equal size, are there any differences from user to user ?

I mean, does it make sense, when people upload their signed custom update zip ?

No success once again.

Stop at point 3 I can't get the file signed! The message is that the file was signed but the custom_update_signed.zip don't appear.

I don't know if it's a Java problem or not, but the AIO tool mention version 1.3.1 but in control panel my java version is 1.7.0_03-b05!!!

If someone upload this custom_update_signed.zip file can I finish the process? Or is this dangerous?

Thanks

Everything is Ok
Is that right? Or did something go wrong on this step? Thanks.
Figured out my problem, I had busybox 1.19.4 installed. I installed busybox 1.19.3 and now it is working. Will be flashing it in a few minutes!

You can have multiple versions of java installed side by side. You need to uninstall the old version.

if you've had success with this, wouldn't it be easier just to upload the signed/rooted firmware instead of having people go through all of this? Am I missing something? That's how it has been done with all of my other rooted/custom rom android devices. I'm bricked and I'm hoping that would help me out.

after a few unsuccessful attempts, i managed to get ICS on a Portuguese Tablet S.
If someone needs i cam always try to upload my custom.update.zip.

I followed TheHurf's guide (#401) and all went smooth.

I did get scared when after it installed and rebooted for the first time it bootlooped... I removed the usb from the pc and it continued the restart. uffff

Let´s see when 3G's firrmware is released if whe can get it right!!!

It's with this method that I updated my system

I can't be responsable in case of brick of your tablet! me or condi ;)

1. Install ADB for your tablet S
2. Download Condi’s AIO Tool ! (Thanx a lot condi !)
3. Donwload US ICS Firmware (For WIFI only !) and copy it to your external SD card of your tablet.
4. Launch AIO and go to custom rom submenu (option 3)
5. Create a decrypted update.zip (You must have internet connection !)
6. Follow instruction of AIO step / step
  1. 6.1 Launch _hackrecovery.zip like a update (if it’s a fail, it’s good ! :))
  2. 6.2 Launch your ICS firmware (don’t worry, AIO cut this update after
description)
7. When AIO ask you if you want to root and sign custom rom, says no ! (it’s not that condi says but i explain my method :))

...

8. When decrypted is finish, choose option 2 and sign too.
9. You have a new .zip in “_signed” (240mb), push it on your external SD card
10. Disable recovery signature check with option 4 of AIO
11. Follow instruction of AIO step / step

I did all steps but I only got a 156mb archive.

I'm personally looking for a US version but I'm sure that would help some people. I'd make sure to label it as a Portuguese firmware when you upload it.

i have a doubt.

I just tried to acces to SuperSu and it says that i have no SU binary installed. Also, when i try to run titanium it gives an error "... not possible to obtain root 'privelege..."

Can i go into AiO 2.1 and run "1 - root..."?

Edit 1: i really lost root .
I went through AiO and hit option 1, and it says that my device is not routable :-(
