Well, if it involves flashing ICS, then thats a big no-no (very happy with hc and i dont have a nandroid backup). But otherwise, yup, i can test it.
Thats great, we have to find some free time when we both will be available :)
Details in PM.
It will flash nothing ;) It will use just my testing .zip with some GUI, which writes nothing to device :)

As I read - automatic flashing worked for you
Thats great - it worked because you had already ICS,
Yes, really nice, really easy!

btw. but the big problems stays...the f**king closed bootloader - just wanna to say that once

Hello, sorry if this has been stated, I didn't see it in the OP, and 121 pages is just way to many to go through ha!

I have a non rooted ICS Sony S tablet (if not why would I be in here right? Heh), currently its asking me to update again, is there a certain version to be on in order for this to work? Should I not do the latest update? Or can I and still be able to root it using this method?

Thanks.

EDIT: After reading the OP again a couple times, am I correct when I say if I am already on stock ICS there is no way to root as of now? Correct? Only if it was still on GB this would work? Or am I reading it wrong?

Thanks.

Sadly I am at work, but will check when I get home and report back even though I am already on ICS.

Hmm ok thanks, do you recommend no longer updating, as I have a update on it waiting, it keeps telling me there is an update, should I quit updating it then?

Unfortunately, we can't see the future so we can't know when (and if) somebody find a way to root ICS, will it work on all or just some versions. :-(

with HC root doesn't work with kernel 10. fortunately there was update after that with other kernel.

I guess if you don't upgrade now, you can always do it later, if necessary. I believe you can't go the other way.

I am still using rooted HC, if I can help you, I will do so... However, at the moment I have to wait until my PC is working again, that could take some days (at least I hope I will get it running all today) :(

You are looking in the right place, your version is 4.0.3 which as of yet cannot be rooted. Sorry.

Ah well I guess I will patiently wait for it to be able to root. Thanks for the quick response.

Hi everyone,

first my thanks to Condi, used version 2X to root and update my device and love it ever since.

I came across this thread and wanted to install some tweaks I missed earlier.
To my surprise, the tool didn't work (stood still at "add GPS fix", and said "no device" at "reboot")
Reading the thread didn't help me much.

I've updated my Android SDK, and checked adb with it, no problem.
So i compared adb.exe from AIO and the SDK, and found them different.
AIO adb.exe: 566KB, from 08 Feb 2012
SDK adb.exe: 187KB, from 28 Jun 2012

So I copied the smaller adb.exe from SDK to AIO and now everything works like charm.
Perhaps this could be helpful for someone.

Condi, one last question: Sadly, I've got no paypal account and won't get one.
Is there another way to buy you a beer? Amazon perhaps?

Hi LexxLol,

I'm happy that everything worked good for you :)
About adb.exe - its a good hint, gotta check this out.
Probably I'm gonna put newest adb executable in next AiO version.
Thanks for that!

About paypal - as far as I remember you can make a donation/payment,
via paypal without making an account - using credit card?
You can use my 'donation link' and there should be such option :)
btw thanks for willingness of beer-donation :D

PS. got v4.1 ready, but still have to test it on honeycomb device.

Yes, SuperUser app is ok to update.
But instead of it SuperSu - no, all AiO scripts are SuperUser + standard SU path compatible.

Condi, I've got no credit card either.
Besides android store I've got no use for it, so I've decided to save the money.
But i'll figure something out ;-)
