Congratulations, it's great to have a girl.

I just realized that my joy was short - lost root somehow.

A quick question, triggered by someone else thought - can incrementals be modified in the HC 3.2.1 package to allow install as "upgrade" over ICS?
Then once rooted in 3.2.1 modify the incrementals on the tablet back to allow the install of ICS with AIO?

You can flash any update as long as the incremental is currently lower than the one you are trying to install. You would want to decrypt and add root etc before doing this. Also you CAN NOT edit build.prop without root permissions. In your case you may still have some root access.

I would try to reflash you custom ics againas incremental should be low enough.

Good luck

Hello condi

Congratulations on the daughter!
My friend has just had a baby girl too.
Is anyone else having problems with 4.1?
I am trying to update my device from a much earlier version of the AIO (2.4 I think) and I have followed the instructions by pressing 3 and 1 to decrypt the OTA update but at the point where it reboots the device after saving hack_recovery.zip it exits. To avoid it closing I ran cmd and then executed the .bat file and the error is:

Code:
[*] DONE. Its saved in '/sdcard/_hack_recovery.zip' for future use.

[*]**************************************************************[*]
[*] DEVICE POWERED OFF. [*]
[*]**************************************************************[*]
[*] NOW ENTER RECOVERY MODE = hold vol-up, and push power [*]
1 was unexpected at this time.

C:\S.onyTablet.S [ALLinONE] v4.1>
Is this something I am doing wrong? I did not press anything on the keyboard and have tried this multiple times now but always get the same result.

Thanks
Robin

Not sure about 2.4 but others have had success with 3.4 as this was the last release before auto-flashing. Give that a go.

Good luck

Hello Stifilz

Thanks for the suggestion but I tried 3.4 but after pressing 3 then 1 and starting the process some stuff shows on the screen quickly and then it returns to the main menu again.
I did manage to print screen it and the line I got was:
Code:
Connecting to sites.google.com:80... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 302 Moved Temporarily
What is the recommended way to upgrade from a previous release? I'm assuming if I go to the latest official version I will lose the ability to patch it.

Thanks
Robin

Please check my post 2 pages back (post 1249). Use the attached file, rename to .bat and replace the original file inside /files. that should fix this issue for you. of course, this is for 4.1 only.

Uh huh. The file is not avail from link try 4.1 with suggestion from 6laz3r. I think that will work as hack recovery file was moved on server.

Good luck again.

Hello both

Thanks for the help.
That has got me a bit further.

When I booted into recovery it seemed to start trying to do an update straight away which fails with:

Code:
E:Error in /tmp/desklunvr/desklunvr.zip
(Status 7)
I then selected install.zip as instructed but that then fails with:

Code:
E:Prohibit update as a result of checking version or base sku
Installation aborted.
When I installed the first ICS rom I had to install the one without 3G as it was the only one there was but this time I selected the one which is wifi and 3G which is correct. At the time the instrutions said that if you wanted ICS you would lose the 3G funcitonality until a later version.
Do I need to change the device type somewhere?

Thanks
Robin

EDIT: I have now gone to the region changing section and changed the region to be the 16GB UK model with 3G and I still get the same error about the wrong SKU.

Hello Stifilz

When I used the first version of this hack there was only a version for the non-3G model of ICS and the instructions said to change the region to the Wifi only model to allow the upgrade to happen and said that a future update would restore the 3G when the device was re-flashed.

This time after changing the region to UK + 3G and rebooting it said that the region was not directly supported and that it would change it and then put it back after it has finished but then after a reboot when I try to flash install.zip I get the region error and it fails to go any further. :crying:

Ok this may be a long shot but try changing to US Wifi only and check that has worked all good. Then change to UK Wifi + 3G..... It may be having trouble changing between the 2 UK regions.

I asume you mean when trying to decrypt ICS update etc..... It should change back to what it had right before the decrypt. Try the above ^^^

Good luck again,
