root ics

could anybody help me please?

Before 4 month I think, I had changed my region from Germany to US to get the ics update.... this worked but I could not get root back....

It is now possible to get ROOT and to flash the german ICS rom?

I have:

Android 4.0.3 Kernel - Version 2.6.39.4 [email protected]#1

since some days it says that there is an update availlable, shout I flash it or not?

Did you try to root when you flashed ics? Reason I ask is you may have a low enough incremental. If you do then flash tne 0042 US update from my FAQ link in my signature.

If all is good. Then you flash that and root from there then either change to Germany and flash ics or flash ics then change to Germany. Be sure to preroot either way using AIO.

Btw the update you are getting the message about is ics release 1a. Find updates in my other signature link.

I used the multitool, after I had made the ota update I startet the multitool and start root..... but it says that it is not possible.

und if i would like to flash an other rom, it says you have no root so it could not flash.... or somethink like this :(

Ok I tried it

-- Install /sdcard ...
Finding update package...
Desklunvr update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:prohibit update as a result of checking version or base sku
Installation aborded.
Dam!! Perhaps it is Germany. Can you look in the file vendor.prop under the vendor folder. This should tell you what region the tablet is set at.

So I found it:

ro.sony.update.service_id=nbx03_001
ro.sony.sku.base=nbx03_001
ro.sony.build.id=TISU0017700
ro.sony.build.incremental=120410004

Ok so you are US region but you do not have a back door. So you are on ics and stuck with US for now. If we figure a way to root ics org then we are good. You can do the ota update release 1a. It wont make much difference.

will I lose all my data stored in my tablet once I try to flash ICS such as the apps I installed?
Not unless you have to reset to factory after update. Back up file where you can.

I've the same problem as sk815. I've WiFi-only RU Tablet S SGPT111RU/S and several month ago I've changed its region to US to flash a prerooted US ICS 4.0.3. After it has been done I've changed tablet's region back to RU. But now I can't flash RU ICS 4.0.3 r1a. I've tried signed-nbx03_042-ota-120804013.zip and got

-- Install /sdcard ...
Finding update package...
Desklunvr update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:prohibit update as a result of checking version or base sku
Installation aborted.

I've checked vendor.prop and found that region is RU:

ro.sony.update.service_id=nbx03_042
ro.sony.sku.base=nbx03_042

Then I've changed region to US and tried to flash signed-nbx03_001-ota-120803002.zip. I've got the same error.

Is there a back door problem?

and its been like that for a while
Sounds like a adb driver issue. Is thr comand adb devices working? Usb debugging still enabled?

Doesnt sound like back door problem. That is only for the incremental value where you found the other info. Vendor.prop. Which would be lower than the latest release anyway. Sounds like a region issue. Try changing region again.
