I have now replied to your post hereOK...now that I have been reading in this forum for the last 2 hours...and y eyes are crossed and my brain throbbing.
I have the SONY TABLET S (non-XPERIA). I got it used/new Sept 29 (my birthday present to myself). I love it. I waited 2 weeks to take the update it kept nagging me to take to 4.0.3 (r5). NOW I REGRET I DID. Lost many of my favorite things..
I want to get it back to the 4.0.3 that was on it. I have tried everything.
I was directed to this forum and I have downloaded S.onyTablet.S__ALLinONE__v4.1.7z . I extracted to C:\ROOT_SONY and left the folders intact (Windows 7 Pro (x86)). I used an elevated CMD prompt to run the S.onyTablet.S.Bat file and following everything that I have read - started in STEP 1.
Plugged the USB cable into the table. Win7 recognizes it, and then I hit 1 on the batch menu. Told me to press ENTER to ROOT the device. Says allow 3 minutes+ to complete. I left it sitting well over 14 minutes and it never left the screen:
[*] FULLY AUTOMATIC - ROOT SHOULD TAKE ABOUT ~ 3min 10s.
[*] Press enter to root your tablet...
[*]
[*] Waiting for device...
* daemon not running. starting it now *
* daemon started successfully *
I pressed CTRL+C and ended the batch.
So then I tried to start with STEP 3.
I copied the signed-nbx03_001-ota-120803002.zip file that I downloaded form this forum to the __to_be_signed folder and nothing worked. So then I said....well it is signed already, copied it to the __signed folder. Again....nothing.
I tried renaming the file to UPDATE.ZIP and placing in the ROOT of the CD card (which is blank BTW, except for a LOST.DIR folder which SONY puts on then when it mounts the card.
Booted into the RECOVERY TOOL - told it restore UPDATE FROM SD CARD. It started the process and failed because the version on the tablet is higher than the update.zip file.
So, here I am -- hoping that someone can tell me how to use either the AIO Tool and the file for the pre-release5 to get my tablet back to the 4.0.3 version I had (don't really care about ROOT) - just want to go back, or by using some other method to accomplish the same feat.
Thanks to all in advance.
