Any way to check the integrity ? I have downloaded the firmware in zip format, but nor /zip nor winrar can open it.
The firmware zip files are encrypted and are to be used as is. The files cannot be successfully opened using programs like 7zip, WinRAR, etc. Such programs will report the files are corrupted. You need to use a program like desklunvr.exe to decrypt and open the zip files.

I got this email after talking to Sony about this petition:
Thank you for your recent email. We appreciate your feedback and concerns. We acknowledge that you would like Sony to unlock the boot-loader and root for all Sony Tablet models. Although the Android is an open source platform, Sony as a manufacturer reserve the right to modify this on the Tablet device, to maintain the stability and performance of the Tablet.
*
I simply did a reply laughing at the quote "...to maintain the stability and performance of the Tablet".
I did also talk about the audioflinger and camera app crashing bug with the logcat attracted and linked to a video and this is what I got:
Thank you for your recent feedback. We appreciate your review and analysis for the bundled operating system on Sony Tablet. Apart from your request to allow access to the boot-loader, we would like to know if there is any other technical issue that we can solve.
A bit of a harsh email don't you think?

Looks like I made that person not so happy when talking about root and the bootloader, Hehe...

Well done for contacting Sony. What a pathetic reply from them. I have signed the Change.org petition. Everyone who likes the tablet S but is p,d off with Sony for locking the bootloader in 5a, make sure you sign the petition and share your thoughts on Twitter and /or Facebook.

Like many others I believe if we bought the device we should own it and should be able to do what the hell we like with it. If there is no movement by Sony to support their customers in this matter then I guess their business will suffer even more than it is already as none of us will be buying or recommending their products in the future.

I already shared the Petition on Twitter and Google+, I will be doing Facebook has well.
Sony VAIO will not fix the bugs that I have reported on logcats and will not allow root/bootloader unlocking.
It is just pointless contacting them. :/

Where can you get desklunvr.exe?

I assume that you have to change the incremental value or something or it will not flash has well.
