S-Pen not working on stock 5.0.2

Just picked up a used Note Pro 12.2 P900. The SPen is not working. It does work on my Note 4 and my Note 4 pen does not work on the Note Pro.

It recognizes when the pen is removed but I can't perform any actions on screen nor can I use it to write. Any ideas?

EDIT: I can sometimes get it to recognize...if i hold it just right above the air command menu, sometimes it will select what I am pointing at.

If anyone is wondering, I only found one obscure reference to the issue. Apparently the LCD connector may be damaged. If you use the SPEN on the back or home button, it works.

I sent this back to where I bought it.
