Hi, guys!
I've just got the S23 ultra (S918B/DS) it comes with TPA CSC.
It comes with native call recording but I would like to get smart call (spam detection) as well.
In SamFw it only shows latin american CSC:

Captura.PNG

As far as I understand, if I change it to INS, I won't get OTA updates and I'll need to change CSC to TPA from then and now to get them. Am I right?

What would you recommend me?
Does anyone know a CSC from that list wich supports spam detection?

Thank you in advance!

In the future I plan to buy a s23 but it will depend on whether I can use call recording and receive OTA updates. If I come from Poland (I don't know what CSC, it used to be XEO and now maybe EUX) will I receive OTA updates normally when I change CSC to SEK or ILS?

Hello friends

I have a UAE S23 Ultra Model SM-S918B/DS
The CSC is XSG

Can I change it ti INS to enable Cal Recording and Samsunf Pay ?
Does thr process factory reset my phone and is there any other precauting I should take

Edit : I did some more searching in thos forum and went ahead.
Changed UAE Model SM-S918B/DS CSC from XSG to INS successfully.
Call redcording working fine.
Samsung Wallet (Samsung Pay) working fine with UPI and other local payment interface.
Spam call filtering workg fine.

And maybe it is placrbo, but I am getting better reception as well.

P.S I am currently in India

Hi everybody,
First, many thanks for all the info in this thread, it's very interesting and I've been following it actively.
I'll tell you about my issue: I bought an S23 (normal model, not Ultra) in Colombia during holidays. I come back to Switzerland and I try to use Samsung Pay but it tells me it's not available in my country.
So I found this (and other) threads, some saying you have to try to change the country, others the CSC, others both.

Concerning the current CSC, I see two different things:
- If I use the dialpad method with *#1234#, in the CSC I see: S911BOWO1AWA6. From my understanding, the CSC is "OWO".
- if I use the Settings > About phone > Software information > Service Provider SW Ver., I get "SAOMC_SM-S911B_OWO_COO_13_0011". And below it says "COO/COO,COO/COO/COO". It seems I am on COO ?

So since many people said that CSC change was not necessary, only change ISO country of the phone, I first tried with usual Alliance Shield but the CountrySelection would not open. So then I used the new Alliance Shield (Reshield) and this time I could open it. I got the window asking for my country, but I had no dropdown and the reboot button was greyed out. I searched for solutions and people said that I should change CSC to be able to change country.

So I tried SamFw tool.
Supported CSCs where listed:
Code:
ANC | ARO | BVO | CDR | CGU | CHE | CHL | CHO | CHT | CHX | COB | COL | COM | COO | CRC | CTI | CTP | CTU | DOR | EBE | ECO | EON | GLO | GTO | IUS | MXO | NBS | PEO | PET | PGU | PNT | PSN | PSP | SAM | TCE | TGP | TMM | TPA | UFN | UFU | UPO | UYO | ZTA | ZTM | ZTO | ZVV

There is no EUX or AUT. So I chose custom value with EUX (also I tried AUT after)., I get this:
Code:
Running exploit... FAIL
Changing CSC to EUX ... OK
Rebooting... OK

Is it normal that Running exploit... FAIL ? Anyways, it seems it changed the CSC.

But then if I try again the CountrySelection via Reshield, I still don't have any dropdown. And the CSC doesn't seem to have changed, I still see same settings with *#1234# and in the About device...

My finaly goal is just to be able to use Samsung Pay in Switzerland... Can anyone give some help ? Thank you so much

expoit... failed is not important (it is part of other unneeded process, just ignore this row)

Your phone is with different MultiCSC: OWO

1.You need first to download some/any OXM firmware.
2. The flash it with Odin.
3. After that SamFw will have option to choose CSC, part of OXM MultiCSC.

(example, look for:
1. Frija app, SM-911B CSC: EUX
2. Odin 3.14.4 also youtube "odin flash"
3. maybe EUX will not show SPay, use XXV or INS
)

Good luck 🍀

P. S.
Might be your phone also have Redional lock, so if Europisn sim is not accepted - in order to use South America phone with other region sim card - first you need to have at least 5 minute call(s) with original region sim card (phisical sim or esim), then Regional lock will be unlocked to be used with any region sim card.

INS does support spam detection, including call recording. I know cos I recently changed mine to INS. Now, regarding the OTA update, I can't say for sure if it's permanently crippled or not, though I doubt OTA will be affected. I have been on the look for the recent update on my region and it hasn't been seeded yet. Also, other features work too.

The latest version of SamFw tool that's safe to use from virtual machine is 3.31 and I managed to change CSC with it on S23.

Versions from 4+ require updating firmware and from 4.3+ require installation and block running from virtual machine. VirusTotal flags installer as trojan from 10 vendors. It's a pity samfw.com went this way.

    Do no update to S91*BXXS2AWEA
The firmware is not signed by Google Play Protect - so phone become UNCERTIFIED and Google Pay stops, other SafetyNet dependent also.

At the moment only THL CSC is pushed to ...WEA. Others (at the moment) are on WD1.

TThe is nonoption to downgrade because this is first firmware with new 2 bootloader.

Deleting, Unistalling, Clearing data, even Factory reset do NOT avoid uncertified status.

(There is a chance for updating Play Protect but it's less likely before Samsung new firmware.)

Current option for already updated to WEA:
Just wait for new WEx (after A) or WFx firmware.

I add attachment SamFW v3.1 which is clean and works with S22 and S23 without any problem.

Argh already did the update and after the first 3 payments it's now blocked...
If you manage to get it to work please let us know!

I change CSC to ILO and record call working good but my samsung calendar marked Friday and Saturday as a weekend day 😀. Is it possible to changed weekend days colors?

it's a ILO CSC configuration so if you are not rooted you can't change it
if you are rooted change XXXXBRX to XXXXXXX or delete the line

Can you give me an easy and specific guide to do it? I've never done it this way before. Only with samkey. Have you installed Sek on the s23 ultra?
Yes , I used samfw for first time in my s23 ultra. The procedure is very easy and safe. I tried INS but then I changed to SEK for the reasons I explained before.
    In short:
    1. You enable ADB in your phone
    2. You download samfw to your windows PC and run it.
    3. Connect your s23 ultra with the PC through a cable.
    4. Run samfw , and press Tab adb in the program (it is the third tab in the upper place of the app).
    5. You will see a pop up menu with all available XOM multi- csc .
    6. Choose and right in the appropriate box the one you want (INS ,SEK etc).
    7. Press "change csc"
    8. It will appear a prompt saying dial *#1234#* (or something like that ) while the screen of your phone is looking like being in check mode( like the one you have in Samsung Member app when you want to make a check for some function).
    9. That's it. In seconds you have your new scs without data wiped!

    Better:
    INS - callrec, callerID, spay
    THL - callrec, callerID
    XXV - callrec, spay
