FAQ

Why/when should I change my Baseband/Radio:

- some users reported, that there is no mobile data connection in deep-sleep with CM10-Stock one, (TMUS-1.08-ts),
- some users reported better/more stable mobile data connections, with EU Baseband/Radio if they live in the EU,
- if you don`t have these problems, stay with the included one

I have a Baseband/Radio which isn`t included:
- just sent us a PM with the link to this Baseband/Radio, We will include it in the next update

I installed a new Baseband/Radio, but the HBoot still shows my old one:

You use CyangoenMod or another ASOP ROM or the new Sense Installer
You can find your installed "CM10" Baseband/Radio at "Systemsettings -> About phone -> Baseband version

Should I wipe cache and/or dalvik-cache after installation?

- no, cache and dalvik-cache will be wiped automatically

Can I use the Radio Installer of CM with Sense-Roms, too?

Yes. We provide a special version for Sense, please look on top of this page, only for higher hboots, there is a temporary version

not sure mate but its not a big deal to try the build.prop edit. If it fails just go back to the normal one.
You might also want to research your provider settings and if you find any experiences you can certainly add it here for everyone to use.

[EDIT]
Found this for the AT&T One X, which i suppose has similar settings:
http://pastebin.com/51Mv0AfK

Check out those values.

I am just stabbing in the dark here (and most likely wrong) but that is a .rar file not a zip... can you flash a rar in recovery?? (i am NO dev and make no calim to be so if thats a stupid question, just throw a virtual slap my way)

Also, when i download the file, and try to open in 7zip it says invalid command (and 7zip IS confirmed working with other files). Not sure if this helps at all or not.

I think you should add some lines in your updater script e.g. calling busybox etc. Have a look:

Your already working script:

Code:
if
    file_getprop("/tmp/aroma-data/eu.prop","item.0.1") == "1"
then
	ui_print("Installing your Radio..");
	package_extract_file("radio/EU_radio_0.15.31501S.13_3_10.08.31501S.04L/radio.img", "/tmp/radio.img");
	run_program("/sbin/busybox", "dd", "if=/tmp/radio.img", "of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p17");
	delete("/tmp/radio.img");
endif;

Your not working script:
Code:
if
    file_getprop("/tmp/aroma-data/eu.prop","item.0.1") == "1"
then
	ui_print("Installing your Radio..");
	package_extract_file("radio/EU_Radio_0.16/", "/");
endif;

Without "dd" it won't copy... and "if" means input file, "of" means output file. I guess you simply forgot to add the missing lines, after you deleted them in your new script.

Yeah rootrider, but the cm radios aren't images, they are extracted files and so a normal copy action should actually suffice. DD is used for image flashing, isn't it?
And busy box is not required for copy actions, is it?

sent with a home button bug...

--- ot on

dd isn't just simple copying, it's more... For simple copy actions you'd use cp. But you could use dd as well.

BusyBox is a single-binary application that includes the capabilities of more than 70 standard Linux utilities.

But as I wrote, you still have to tell it what to copy and where. Not more, not less.

So check out Venom rom and you'll see in ./system/bin that dd is symlinked with toolbox. This is an equivalent to busybox.
And here is a link to the busybox homepage. If we'd investigate further, we could see toolbox being a customized (further reduced) busybox.

And here I'll stop for 100% as we're talking about radios. lol

--- ot off

added some pics, the second shows what an advanced busybox installation does. And added one more link.

    It seems that the radio installation on the CM-way,
    will also work on sense roms:
    Ok. Now I know how I installed new radio under sense without flash. That is because by mistake I've used cm10 installer instead of sense one.

    So it looks like cm10 method works great for those with sense Rom and hboot greater then 1.13! Give it a try, you risk nothing.

    Well, I thought you were out of your mind, so I went to try for myself. Now I'm on hboot 1.06, but I went ahead and used the CM10 installer to install 1.09 TS radio and rebooted. In sense, under about phone, it shows 1.09 TS, so I thought wow, rebooted into boot loader, boatloader still shows 1.11. Amazing.
    (but I doesn`t test it myself).

    So Tecardo and I decided to merge the look
    of the Sense-Installer to the CM-Installer,
    as an selectable option,
    and remame it to "Temporally-Radio-Installer",
    to match better with its function.

    This means, this installer will flash the radio
    to the system partition, (the CM-way)
    the radio will stay as long as you don`t flash another
    Rom or Rom-Update.

    This Installer will work on all HBoot Versions.

    Please test it`s function on Sense Based Roms:
    • reboot into bootloader,
    • take a look at your baseband/radio version,
    • reboot rom,
    • goto -> system settings about phone,
    • take a look at your baseband/radio version,
      (it should be the same)
    • install a DIFFERENT radio as shown on your bootloader,
    • (of course use the "Temporally-Radio-Installer",
      also the CM-Radio Installer V1.5 can be used)
    • goto -> system settings about phone,
    • take a look at your baseband/radio version,
      (it should be the one, you choosed in Aroma Installer)

    Changelog:

    Temporally-Radio-Installer V1

    • Based on my CM-Radio-InstallerV1.5
    • Added an option to choose between CM- and Sense Installer look
    • Added a installer info popup

    BTW,

    there is no need to update to the Temporally-Radio-Installer on CM-Based Roms,
    there is NO technical changes, it`s only optical!

    Sense-Based-Radio-Installer-V3, and CM-Based-Radio Installer V1.4 are available,

    Changelog:

    Sense-Based

    • Added Europe 1.11 Radio

    CM-Based
    • Rebuild on mtpi`s Installer
      [*]Added mtpi as second Author in Aroma Installer
      [*]Renamed Eu-1150 to Eu-1.11
      [*]Small text changes to match with previous Installers

    Note:

    All credits for including the EU-1.11 Radio to the CM-Based Radio Installer goes to mtpi, (Big Thanks).

    If you allready using mtpi`s CM-Based Radio Installer, there is no reason to "update",
    i only made the CM-Based Radio Installer Update:

    - to have all Installers on the same server,
    - to have matching names,
    - to have the same text layout

    BTW I created 2 new folders on the XDA-Fileserver,
    CM-Based and Sense-Based
