Stuck on sw rev check fail

I didn't see a forum for the Active and I'm guessing one won't be made so I figured I'd start this thread for S7 Active questions and/or other information.

I tried to downgrade the firmware and it fail on Odin. I got the message sw rev check fail aboot fused 2 binary 1 and cannot move passed this. Need help fixing this problem

S7 Active where to start.

Hi everyone, I have a Galaxy S7 Active and recently switched to another carrier. I unlocked the device. I need information on where to start to update to the latest nougat version as I don't get ota updates anymore. I am currently on build BQC2 and am not sure where to start on updates. I have odin and usb drivers installed on my laptop I just don't want to brick my phone. I do however need to get onto a clean build as my phone is experiencing issues. If its not a huge deal I would like to go all the way to oreo. Any help on where to start will be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi! I recently bought an S7 active since I wanted something like my old xcover 3 but faster

I just love my new S7 Active but unfortunatly I live in Norway and my service provider has poor LTE coverage but fairly good 3G coverage.

The problem is that I cant get the phone to work with CDMA

Is there any way to fix this?

I'd be willing to pay for good help on the issue

This phone was exclusive to a GSM carrier in the USA, so it seems unlikely that you are going to find help. I imagine that the modem has the capability to communicate via CDMA with the correct firmware since it shares most hardware with any other Qualcomm S7 (this is way outside of my knowledge base) but that would take custom firmware and that's hard to find/make for a locked down phone as this one is. And even if you did find it you would be stuck with a custom ROM with all of the issues that those typically have. Crashy McCrasherstons. Let us know if you learn otherwise.

I got it working with WCDMA, I tought the norwegian 3G network was CDMA but it was actually WCDMA
Everything works perfect, except there isn't an "LTE/GSM/WCDMA auto" setting... So I have to manually switch between the "LTE/GSM" and "WCDMA Preferred" setting since my service provider uses both.

Oh boy, i hope somebody can help out here...
A friend of mine owns this S7 Active, bought in 2017 in ebay. Up to now he did not receive any update, nothing came ever via OTA.
Now he starts to be disappointed that he sticks on Android 7 and does not get 8, although there are hints that this should be available.
So hopefully i have now found a place here where we can get some tips on this... why is there no OTA at all, why is there no oreo at all, and is there a easy way to upgrade using external tools like odin.
Currently the phone is stuck on
AP: G891AUCS2BQH1
CP: G891AUCS2BQH1
CSC: G891AATT2BQH1
Usage of that phone is in Germany, the phone is & was always used with provider maXXim.
I hope that somebody can give some hints... if more information is necessary then please let me know.
