Full restore with odin to ARA1

https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s8/how-to/g892a-odin-restore-files-userdata-t3746318

ARA1-to-BRC5 link is NOT working any more

https://samsung.firmware.science/download?url=48974/1488/SS-G892AUCS2ARA1-to-U2BRC5-UP

---------- Post added at 13:45 ---------- Previous post was at 13:41 ----------

to whom it may concern i will no longer upload the file as att has released the update to the public
This person is from Sweden. There is no opportunity to get official update. AT&T allows download to its customers only.

As long as the bootloader is the same it should flash fine, you'll need a modded Odin to do so however, https://drive.google.com/open?id=1cFvAWFX4E5aqoKqSTR_Nf4h3HgzHUgY7
If it doesn't flash at all, say because of a PIT error, don't try to flash it any further.

Thanks again, i finally got around to try to update.
but i get failed in odin after it has verified the files.
but i read somewhere that i should not load the userdata file into the ums slot, is that correct or is thefile damaged?
i want to do a full restore with ARA1 as instructed above and then a manual update fropm sd card
thanks

User data shouldn't be used at all but this is not a problem. Loading it will double and mix some operator related apps and settings (at&t and t-mobile). Still it can be loaded with no error in Odin. Please check if you are doing everything correct. Are you doing it from "Download" mode?

Ok, so dont load anything into userdata, only the other 4 files, BL, AP, CP and CSC_ATT

Yes i'm in Download mode. Is there a specific version of Odin that i should use? I can see that there are several different versions about. The one i'm using is v3.12.7. And when i tried i did not run odin "as Administrator, should that be a problem?

4 files is correct. I used 3.13.1. Never ran as administrator. Try to use another usb port. Heard that USB3 is not always good. One guy here mentioned he managed to upload firmware on another computer. Check for other software could interfere with USB comunication. Is CRC check OK?

Good to hear you've done it!

Maybe it's a computer hardware/software specific issue but I've never had USB debugging enabled. Still it is mentioned in Odin "how to" guide.
