While browsing the Amazon cables section I noticed this...
Are we getting direct Hdmi MHL type connections back???
The specs and descriptions on this wire say so. That would be awesome.

I'm picking one up and I'll let you know once my S8 Plus arrives...

I don't think it's called MHL anymore but the Global S8 specs page does show that it supports DisplayPort over USB-C and "video out when connecting via HDMI Adapter".

I figured saying MHL type was easier to understand since most Galaxy users had one of those cables to mirror the phones display back in the day.

I put the order in for the cable already and it should arrive before the phone but maybe we'll get lucky and all get S8 shipped notifications tomorrow morning... Wishful thinking.

I ended up ordering the cable from Amazon as well since my sister wanted one to hook up to her 4ktv. The one from Amazon was delivered last night. Now just the waiting game for my T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus to arrive...

Rocketfish HDMI/USB-C adapter is a failure. No output at all, except you see a toast pop up telling you an HDMI cable was plugged in.
