Holy crap you guys!! Pie for the s9 just dropped! Samsung experience 10.0 baby! I just wanted to make this thread for general discussion of Android Pie on the s9, the update features, and links to the firmware if available. There are some builds up on samsung.firmware.science for the s9 and s9+.

FOR ANYONE NOT SURE, THESE BUILDS LISTED ARE FOR THE G960U AND G9650U ONLY
unless stated otherwise

Official builds of pie (one ui) are being released among US carriers through OTA updates.

All builds can be found on firmware.science (just to keep the post from getting too cluttered)

If you see a build missing, just check firmware.science for it. I was probably just to lazy to put it here.

Here's a thread of what doesn't work in these builds. (Constantly updated):
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s9-plus/how-to/broken-features-current-android-pie-t3845763

TO INSTALL:
1. Download the update file to your sd card or PC
2. Make sure you are on the right oreo build before you flash to specified pie build (ex. ARG8 to flash CRI7)
(if you're not, then download the firmware from an external source and Odin Flash to it, then proceed)
3. Boot into recovery mode (power off your phone, then hold volume up + power + Bixby button until you see a blue screen with a bug droid on it)
4. Select "apply update via sd". Navigate to the file, and select it. If you don't have an sd, select "apply update via adb".
Here's an article on how to adb sideload
https://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-to-install-ota-updates-manually-using-recovery-and-adb-sideload/
5 .enjoy your fresh slice of pie (or not, I don't care).

Too bad it's not an Odin flashable for us Snapdragon guys
That's not a very big deal though. It's actually ONLY available to us snapdragons right now (for the s9+ G965U). You can actually boot to stock recovery with the firmware on the sd card and do "apply update from sd card" and you don't even need a computer.

I mention Odin because I'm on a W8 Canadian variant... Locked bootloader.

Just flashed it on my Verizon S9+ plus coming from G965USQU3BRI2 baseband. It did fail first couple times but had to use regular CSC not the HOME_CSC but still didn't wipe my phone (had to use Oden 13.1.3 I believe).
Yes the phone was really glitchy at first but after wiping cache partition and a couple more changes later its actually really enjoyable with the new updates (haven't wiped yet). Biggest issue so far is no notification icons on the new Home Samsung Experience 10.0.

Did you just dow load from the link I posted? If not then can you tell me the build number of pie? I just found a CRI5 on the regular s9 firmware list and I'm not sure if CRI5 is pie or not.

Just for the record I haven't flashed anything yet on my own device. I just wanted to get discussion started where people could talk about pie, give links, and give advice.

I grabbed it off the main XDA home page, I do have CRI5. What baseband are you on? Do you get notification icons like over messages or email app?

Like I said in my previous post I have not flashed anything yet so I'm not sure if I'll get notification dots or not yet.

I have a snapdragon s9+ and when I try to sideload this firmware it fails with errors related to model mismatch and "unable to open sysfs usb mode" :(

I believe it's because I have the SM-G965U1 (unlocked) and the firmware is different from the SM-G965U. Any opinions?
