So finally my issue was about the cable itself...

Initially I took a cable found like this 3 meter lenght ...etc... ==> It gaves me unknown devices on few computers. Not possible to detect mibox..

So i decided to kill 2 cables to joined them ! Then it has started to work fine....

I have the same situation like you, guess the new box already has the prohibition for restriction of downgrading.

Guess you need a USB-to-RJ45 adapter for LAN; How many space you left after installation? less than 3G from 8G?

Hi everybody.

I thought i share with all how i solved my network issue.
I made 3 times reflashing procedure.
After 1st reflash i had issue with wifi stability, after 2nd reflash network was ok but something was wrong with video codecs/drivers. Playback with youtube app and Kodi was with studdering, playback tested from network or USB pen drive or USB SSD hard drive.
After 3rd reflash everything works well (in my case Youtube playback, Kodi and sometimes Google Chrome)

Is someone getting netflix android tv version getting to work?

Hi ,

I have ui-800-3 error for Android TV version of Netflix app.

I use netflix mobile , as I have wireless keyboard it is not so bad, but somehow , still feels like pain in ass if compared with using Youtube or VLC.

And when I will upgrade to decent TV 720p will be looking not so nice.

have someone figured out
a) how to get working netflix android tv app
b) enable navigate with mi remote smoothly on netflix mobile app

The bootloader state is just part of a long list of issues why this trick won't magically turn this device into a fully functional official AndroidTV device.

Even if you sideload phone/tablet version of Netflix, you will be limited to max 480 resolution.

Without proper DRM license (and Netflix approval), no generic android device will run Ninja Netflix version for official AndroidTV. Simply putting a leanback launcher on this device does nothing to impart the needed DRM licenses nor does it gain Netflix approval and recognition. Same issue with casting.

If your goal is (partial) English menus, that can be easily accomplished with a few simple steps documented on this forum, as well as on Youtube. Messing with internal files and flashing roms not intended for this device can lead to significant complications, as seen throughout this thread.

What is the actual model number of your device and what firmware build do you have installed?

When you run drminfo on your device, are you connected to a TV. Pay close attention to HDCP value. It must be at least HDCP 1.X to allow Netflix stream at 1080.

Par contre, pour l'application "mycanal", elle s'installe bien, mais lors du lancement, message d'erreur
Il y a une erreur de permissions, voici le message

Cette application ne fonctionnera pas correctement sauf si vous aceptez la demande d'accès des services google play à ce qui quit

Pour continuer, sélectionnez paramètres>autorisations, puis autorisez tous les éléments répertoriés
CANCEL OUVRIR PARAMETRES


Mais là impossible de changer ses paramètres.

My Mi Box has no one HDCP version and Netflix is not playing in 1080p.

No surprises on that issue. Generic tv boxes are not permitted by Netflix to stream higher than 480 resolution.

Hi everyone

i solved casting error mobile phone on mibox
step1 : install localcast.apk on your phone(sender)
step2: install seagate cast of playstore on mibox(reciver)

(just install seagate cast. another casting apps not work)

step3: open segate on mi box and wait 1 minute..then open localcast on phone and click on casting icon(yellow) and choose seagatecast of list..start casting first by music for configuring seagate app ??? ..
(important part)
after it you can see segate menu (photo music videos settings )
congratulation ?
now you can browse your videos (every things)..


note: in a few cases after casting videos no action by mibox..you must push play button in seagate media player on mibox(go videos section and stream videos)

When I received the device and saw that it was the Chinese version I was going to throw it away. I saw this procedure and decided to follow it. Result device with English version and working perfectly.

I thought that this work has to be paid for. Where can I donate?

I did all the steps in Part 1. When I try to do Part 2, it doesn't show the MiBox under ADB devices.
For the MiBox, how should it be when I connect the USB cable to the PC? Connected to the power source? Started? Closed from the remote?

Please supply the exact model number from bottom label of device. Format is MDZ-XX-ZZ
