[S905x] Help with Mi Box 3S (MDZ-19-AA) Bootloader Unlock And Root

Hi just checking if anyone has any success rooting the MDZ-19-AA running on MIUI TV Version: 1.5.63 (stable), Android: 6.0.1?
I tried practically KingRoot, SuperSu and KingoRoot - all are unable to root it.
Need the experts from this community to advise where did I do wrong?

NB: I saw some links that had success with the MIUI TV Version 1.5.33 (stable), Andriod: 5.1. My challenge is I do not know how to downgrade mine unit. Any kind advise on this is also appreciated.

Are you able to use voice by clicking the microphone on the main screen? I have camera attached, Skype sees the microphone and the camera but android (Google launcher) says "can't reach Google". Do you have the same experience?

I thought that the remote controller itself has bult-in microphone, but voice control doesn't recognize anything. Do I have to plug in external microphone?

My MDZ-19-AA (Chinese version) MIBOX3S is stucked at the boot screen after I preform the first step (downgrading to firmware 1.4.5) of this thread.

I can still get into the recovery mode and select "factory reset" to rescue it, but it will then be reset to version 1.5.4.

Is it impossible to downgrade from 1.5.4 to 1.4.5 on my MDZ-19-AA?

my mdz-19-aa has brick it not shown everything , black screen , no signal
before that i had input this command "dd if=/sdcard/rom3s.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0"
but i push wrong .img and after reboot it stucks
by the way , when connect the box to my computer it shown worldcup driver in device manager
what should i do?

Hi, I tried to unlock my box but after step 3 Android TV is stuck on loading (after 1 min the 4 dots are freezing). How can I fix or put it back in chinese version ?

I think today's day my step by step is one of the best solution out there , no downgrading, no flashing,
For the ppl that have it brick just download the form and put the box on download mode,
And please stop trying to flash this boxes 9 out of 10 brick,
As for Ethernet is a big issue , I doubt that any of them would work as it should because they're not meant to do so, xiaomi decided to mess up the USB, is like when we enable adb over USB and don't see the device connected,
But for any one trying to use Ethernet , I've tried over 20 different without any luck,
Your best bet is save your money,
And upgrade your boxes / or replace them,
If you guys use my method to have it in English with working Netflix, and so on, please do not update with ota, or you'll have to do it over and over again, this is because I don't use root or flash,
Otherwise works like a charm,
I use a keyboard mouse rii 8 and Netflix and YouTube are working pretty good
As a piece of advice
There are third party apps that connects to your Netflix account and it doesn't care if your box is good by Netflix or not, the app itself validate the account

I personally like playon is free and you can link lots of different streaming service to it Amazon video etc

3. Change locale :

Replace

with (Ex for Vietnamese)

4. Change GMT time :

Ex : GMT +7
persist.sys.timezone=Asia/Bangkok

I got stuck on boot screen after downgrade...and cant upgrade to newest version also. I tried to skip downgrade to directly use adb boot, error read "adbd cannot run as root in production builds". Other guidance dont work either.

Hi there, is it still possible to get help with this mode?
I tried the first 2 steps, downgraded to queenchristina, then used the xiaomi software to install usb driver. Then the 3rd step where I need to do the adb via cmd order, that’s where I got stuck and it froze, tried to restart then it got stuck at xiaomi screen where there’s some other logos under like Dolby etc.
I tried to flash again but now the logo of the android and bunny has Vietnamese text which I guess it means failed (lôi) , and if I try to use super user recover mode I get a message saying that “this package is for queenchristina devices; this is a once device” and that’s where I’m stuck now.

Anybody knows a way to fix this?
