I wasn't offered any kind of warranty... I might have to go back, that's a pretty good deal!I picked mine up at Sam's club too. The price plus the square trade warranty ($99 for 2 years with accident coverage, PLUS only $50 deductible) sold me.
I was asking for proof for a potential match, not to start a pissing match, as you so elegantly describe. I was informing other people that 3rd parties may offer a better price, but also have additional ETFs imposed. But since you feel so offended by me asking, I don't really give a damn either, I got my N3 for $14.99, so you can keep your no tax .Well I don't plan on terminating my contract anytime soon so etf is of no concern. And as far as proving the no tax well you can choose to believe me or not i really don't care fact is i have purchased my gs3 gs4 and now my Note 3 all without tax! This time saving about $70 not $10. I only mentioned this to give others options to save a little cash not Start a pissing match!

Actually, you are legally obligated to pay a Use Tax on items purchased. Normally, sales tax is collected on purchases in-state, but not out-of-state. Regardless if they are collected by the retailer or not, you are legally obligated to pay, it's just not easily enforceable because of so many caveats. That's why Congress is trying to pass the Marketplace Fairness Act. So yes, it is a form of tax evasion. If the IRS wanted to audit you for whatever reason and found out that you didn't pay a Use Tax on something and you have no proof the tax was paid to the retailer or on your income taxes, then yes, they could attempt to collect it. So now you know, and knowing is half the battle!Lol..... Really tax evasion..... Uhhhh no! I'm obviously not the only one purchasing a smartphone from Walmart online! If you use the little search button you will see! So i would appreciate you have your facts straight before you accuse me of breaking said laws!

exactly! it' like MacDonald inside Walmart!I believe and could be wrong, but Walmart uses third party suppliers for phones as well as a lot of stuff they sell. If your order comes from a third party supplier often there is not a sales tax included.
It doesn't matter where a good or service comes from, there are federal laws that require payment of use taxes. They're usually collected in the form of sales tax at the time of purchase. Just because a company doesn't charge them doesn't mean you shouldn't pay them. It's not easily enforceable, but that's why places such as Amazon are charging sales tax now. It's the only way to guarantee proper collection and payment of the taxes.exactly! it' like MacDonald inside Walmart!
walmart doesnt own MacDonald!
the wireless section is from a 3rd party company based on another state. that' why no taxes!
and you can get your proof yourself, just pretend to order and dont click submit! and it will shows no taxes!
my friend just bought one without taxes too. but i pay taxes...at bestbuy cus i cant wait, i got my last Friday. my friend still waiting for his phone from Fedex.
Ya, same at mine in Madison, WI. They did tell me I could return it within a month if they get the black one in. Doubt I'll bother. Not sure why everyone is talking about taxes...but....
I was going to get the Note 3 @ Sams but they carry NO black ones for ATT AT ALL. At least everyone in the Metro St. Louis area....
The guy told me they get whatever color sells more in that store based on other phones. Not sure why everyone is talking about taxes...but....

Meh. Same here. But I didn't want to risk it on words. Sales lady was SOOOO disappointed. I felt bad.Ya, same at mine in Madison, WI. They did tell me I could return it within a month if they get the black one in. Doubt I'll bother.
Makes sense. That's probably how they can keep the price lower. Controlled inventoryThe guy told me they get whatever color sells more in that store based on other phones.

True. But isn't Amazon's ETF double? That's my only cavet.Amazon sells the device for $289 on contract, like most other retailers, advantage is that Amazon does not collect taxes in most states. I saved $53. :good:
It's not consistent for me. I order frequently on Amazon and most of the time there is no tax but whenever it's a big ticket item there is tax.I never did before until governor Christie thought it would be a good idea to tax amazon orders to jersey.... even though the distribution center is in Pennsylvania
