Hi. My friend had recently purchased a Samsung Captivate and I rooted and attempted to flash Cognition beta 9... However it failed and I was able to boot android normally once and then I attempted to flash again. After doing so I ran into some problems... I can boot up and get into where it says "Android system recovery <2e>" up top and It's able to be seen as a device with "adb devices" but I am not sure where to go from here. I read another thread and tried using "reboot download" but I ended up with "Segmentation fault reboot download".

So the question is, what can I do from here?

Have you looked at odin one click? You should be able to flash the phone back to 2.1 and start over. You should be able to find tons of information about using odin and where to obtain it.

You will not hurt your phone. If the phone is not in download mode the one click app will hang on 'file analysis'. If it hangs you can just close the one click app. Also what do you see id you boot holding the power + vol up/down buttons? do you get the recovery shell with option to format, clear cache, reboot, etc..?
