Hey all,
I searches but I did not get find an answer. Anyways, if to get Captivate from States, will it work on Rogers network with 3g.
I saw that to change APN setting. Do those work?
The reason, I have Xperia x10 and looking to get this phones as well. for Xperia x10, I had to root in order to change radio frqs to get 3g connection.
Therefore, is it same with Samsung or just unlock should do the trick?

It should work. Rogers android phones work on AT&T. they use the same frequencies. You'll have to unlock the AT&T captivate first though, and then change the APN settings to work on Rogers for data.

I have Captivate on Rogers, works fine, just type in APN settings (Google rogers APN) and you will be 3G without issues. I would suggest also making sure you grab the file on your Captivate to decode the unlock codes before you apply any cooked ROMS and write down those codes in a safe place.

These are the APN settings I used. Works for both mms and net.

Name: Rogers
APN: rogers-core-appl1.apn
MMSC: ://mms.gprs.rogers "add a http at beginning and a dot com at the end"
MMS Proxy: 10.128.1.69
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 720

Everything else blank

HELP!!!

I have a captivate from rogers. Used the odin flash and it changed my phone to an AT&T Worldphone. Any way to get back to factroy. If not will the rogers release of 2.2 fix this?

I just installed cognition for 2.1. And for whatever reason when i go to add my APN back in, when i change the MNC from the default 72 to 720 it cannot save the settings and instead deletes any information that had been already saved.

I saw a way to edit the build.prop file in the hopes of hard coding the apn number in there, but for whatever reason i cant find the entry the post talks about.

Any help would be appreciated.

Oh, i installed the v2.1.7 Unhelpfuls Kernel from cognition. Trying to revert back to stock now.
