I stopped in a corporate store yesterday and they were very willing to do the exchange for the S7 or S7 Edge. It would be a new contract and I would start making the adjusted payments on the S7. I would then be able to return that S7/Edge when the new Note 7's come in. I was ready to pull the plug and then he mentioned that it is very important that the replacement phone NOT become damaged. He didn't say what constitutes damaged. He said if it is damaged, its mine. At the time I didn't think to ask if an insurance replacement could be turned in. After thinking about it, that could be a problem too considering there will be a 14 day return of the S7 for the new Note 7. I'm not sure what the insurance turn around time is.

The bickering is silly. I would not be surprised if Verizon had the phones and were holding them. They shipped my note 7 a week early and told FedEx to hold until the day before release. It's what the corporate world is like.

No matter what anyone writes...it all depends on what your store says...and they vary depending on location. So his account of the situation may be true...and your local store still doesn't have any.

I'm keeping mine until the deadline of the 30th or until Best Buy gets them in. Whichever comes first. Mine is running great, for now.

I wouldn't risk it, it's just not worth it, the government and Samsung urge it SHUT DOWN, no if's, and's or but's. Others thought theirs were "fine" too, but we all know how that turned out.

I have a audio recording of my experience yesterday returning my note 7 to Verizon but can't upload it they push hard to give the s7edge with the option to trade in when the new shipments comes in with a $25 bill credit , you can hear the lady clearly say ..."they say we should have them in on the 20th but we do no if thats true yet"..

Doesn't matter when note 7 comes in, they have to take back the "loaned" phone and give you the Note 7. This is all on Samsung's bill. If you think you can afford losing something to a fire go right on ahead using it. Shouldn't cry if it happens though and shouldn't be Samsung's fault anymore cause this news has been plastered everywhere to shut it off. I'm just ranting and not at anyone in particular, so I'll shut up now. :D

Just an FYI, but recording calls in many states, like here in California, requires both parties to consent to it.

Not being argumentative.. Just a questions.. If they tell you this call is being recorded for training purposes.. Is that and you say yes.. Is that consent on both sides

They only asked me for charger cause the cable is different. So I would say just keep that with you just in case. Just don't say you have it unless it's necessary so you can have extra.

So, it appears you can get Note 7's again online from Verizon, I just went through the motions, and I could get a new one to me on Wednesday. I checked on picking it up at our local store (Ukiah, CA), but it said "nope", which I expected.

I am truly at a loss here. I just got off the phone with verizon and now they say they wont have the new phones before the 30th but we have to exchange the phone before the 30th. what the hell are you supposed to do if you still want a note 7

Stop believing those liars lol, they have no clue. I went to Verizon today and one of the reps told me they don't have the phones and they have no clue when they are coming in. On my way out I ran into an old high school friend and told me my situation. He laughed and said come here, he opened a locked cage in the back and I'll be damned new note 7.... I know they were because they have that s sticker on the box. He said reps are told to say that to people because they can't release the new models until Samsung and consumer report/fcc gives the okay. (I may have quoted the gov bodies involved incorrectly)

So far, it's only affecting international models, it's still up for sale at all five US carriers, Verizon, U.S. Cellular, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint.

I actually called Verizon(my attempt was the actual store, but I somehow was ported to crc) yesterday and I was told by the reo to go I the store to exchange the device.. So I trek 3 cities to my closest store, only to be told they do not have stock in yet..

The person and myself talked, and he was saying the standard at this point. And was, just like myself, surprised and not surprised that I was told that.. But he did mention sometime later this week to call and see if they have them in stock for an exchange.. Because I don't want any other phone whatsoever...

    from note 7

They said it's not even effecting .1% of the phones on the market. I doubt anyone really needs to be concerned. And if there is a recall, they'll probably limit it to certain serial numbers that contained the batch of bad batteries, or other source of the issue.
