Samsung Considering A Note 7 Recall

Yeah, but then I lose my uSD slot, ip68 rating, updated FW, good fingerprint scanner, etc.
Has anyone gotten anywhere with Costco on the return? My local store said they will have new Notes in later this week and I could come in and exchange it. Anyone else get a consistent response along those lines? Does the Gear VR Samsung is giving out with replacements go to everyone, or just the people who bought direct from Samsung?

I am truly at a loss here. I just got off the phone with verizon and now they say they wont have the new phones before the 30th but we have to exchange the phone before the 30th. what the hell are you supposed to do if you still want a note 7
Stop believing those liars lol, they have no clue. I went to Verizon today and one of the reps told me they don't have the phones and they have no clue when they are coming in. On my way out I ran into an old high school friend and told me my situation. He laughed and said come here, he opened a locked cage in the back and I'll be damned new note 7.... I know they were because they have that s sticker on the box. He said reps are told to say that to people because they can't release the new models until Samsung and consumer report/fcc gives the okay. (I may have quoted the gov bodies involved incorrectly)
So your old high school friend I assume works for Verizon ...great that you got the golden pass to go to back and check out the new stock !!!

Seriously he's blowing smoke. There are very strict rules on going into an inventory room. My brother works at a corporate Verizon store. Word on the street is sometime around the 19th but it's just speculation at this point. He's going to let me know when they get them in stock so I can check my local stores . I keep calling daily, however. No luck so far
I called Verizon this morning to see what they would tell me about the return/exchange. Basically they said "as if this past Friday my local vzw store would have the replacement/fixed note 7 and I had by the end of this month to replace/exchange it.. No restock fee.. Yay. Lol.
I'm and not yet rooted since it sounds a little buggy.. But I may want to root the replacement note 7. So far my note 7 has been fine.

Took mine in Sunday and got my loaner s7 edge. Process was smooth, they knew what they were doing and he let me see that it was recorded on my account that this was a loaner. If I chose to do nothing I can just keep the s7... I did ask if I would be notified when the new note 7s were in and he was candid... "I would like to think you would...but...". Lol. I will just stop by next week.
It's not a big deal when he is the general manager..... Again I didn't say I got mine, I said he showed me the stock was in. I called him an old friend, because like others I don't call everyone my friend that I don't hang with currently.

Full of what, did you not read. I clearly said he showed me the stock and stated they couldn't sell until they are approved. What's so hard to believe that they shipped phones.... You think in the last two weeks Samsung didn't make any new phones lol lol..... I would have responded sooner but I've been testing the new root method with overdrive for you ungrateful, negative commenting folks....
One, I don't give a crap about root because it breaks Samsung Pay, which I use daily.
Two, your original post had wording that implied you were given a new Note7, the fixed one, with the sticker on the box.
Ungrateful negative....I don't think my comment was any of those actually but usually when someone states a post like yours it comes with proof .. obviously we all love out note 7 and wanna get trustworthy info ,but name calling I don't think is the answer sir / ma'am

2So, it appears you can get Note 7's again online from Verizon, I just went through the motions, and I could get a new one to me on Wednesday. I checked on picking it up at our local store (Ukiah, CA), but it said "nope", which I expected.

Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk2I actually called Verizon(my attempt was the actual store, but I somehow was ported to crc) yesterday and I was told by the reo to go I the store to exchange the device.. So I trek 3 cities to my closest store, only to be told they do not have stock in yet..
The person and myself talked, and he was saying the standard at this point. And was, just like myself, surprised and not surprised that I was told that.. But he did mention sometime later this week to call and see if they have them in stock for an exchange.. Because I don't want any other phone whatsoever...
