Desktop Browser coming on leaps and bounds in usability over past three weeks which is really encouraging. :good: It is very quick as well. Not bold enough to adopt as my daily driver yet.
How wary must you be about development suggestions that appear to copy/are implemented features in other browsers e.g. clear, paste and go for URLs copied into the clipboard from other apps?
Thanks for the feedback!
I think that if most desktop browsers support a feature then I can look to add it.
In the address bar I decided to let the system handle that context menu, as a common text input box in apps (though not in the web page area) will show a common text management context menu.
Once I have introduced some of the other high priority bug fixes, I may see if I can recreate most of those functions in the context menu and then add features such as 'paste & go' as I too find that to be a useful feature when navigating exclusively using mouse input.
I've had several people complaining about the upgrade option expecting me to spend loads of time on this for free and also while not selling their data to Google... (which I don't do by the way unlike many other browsers)
I mean seriously do people honestly go to work every day and expect to die of starvation too for doing all of their work for free...
I try to provide a full desktop experience for free and only charge for the bookmarks bar and find in page features to support the development of this whole project at the lowest price point that Google will allow me to charge for an in app purchase).
Also some seem to think that I have hundreds of developers working on this much like Google's Chrome team. This is just me and the project was only started a week before new years day...
Currently the new mobile experience is still flakey but it is designed to try and make it easier to continue between phone and DeX mode.
At the moment as I'm just one developer, I try to take the approach of using the browser continously myself and as I spot bugs that are annoying I try to fix them.
Some of those bugs required extensive development time, and often I find it good practice to sometimes put the time consuming things to one side for a day or two to focus on other issues to keep the enthusiasm for development of this project up. With those offensive comments I have received, if the apps progress was moving along slowly I may have just lost all interest in this project,
but I try to continue hoping that some users will understand that apps don't just magically appear fully finished and completely free on the app store.
I made a promise to myself a few years ago that I will never use ads in my apps, so that is why I use a one off fee for my app instead of filling your screen with ads.
Anyway sorry I just wanted to get that off my chest...
