Will this also give you 3g?
I was able to get mms and data working once I used another donor phone that had not been activated. Data only works when in 1x and not 3G which may make sense given the donor phone is not 3g. In any case, the phone does not maintain a data connection. It behaves like a dumb phone... data connection is only active when needed. I usually receive a network connection not available when using an app or web... then a few seconds later the data connection icon in the annunciator bar appears. Once the phone switches from 1x to 3G... apps/web/etc do not work. I would like to know how to keep the data connection active constantly.

Just did this to my Samsung Continuum. Everything went great, I'm able to receive and send texts. Only problem is receiving and making calls. Doesn't work. Anyone ever figure out a work around or fix?

st # on green card

I was trying to follow the instructions but I was unsure about the # on the green card vs the meid # on the red card that came with the phone. The instructions say its a 20 digit # but neither of the #'s I have are 20 digits long. The one on the red card is 18 and the green card is 16. Witch one do I use?

Nevermind got it working, but I can't get it to program when dialing *22890. Whats wierd is ST show my phone as activated and I can send and recieve texts and calls just no data what so ever. No mms or browsing. Can someone post the manual settings for an android phone? Or does anyone have any suggestions?

How long have you guys had your cdma Android phones on straight talk? On another board they say your account will last a max of 3 months because the straight talk cdma prepaid phones have software that checks in with straight talk servers, and that's how they automatically deactivate cloned phones.

I'm on boost and would love to switch, but am concerned by this.

yes & yes, but when I go *#06# the old MEID comes up? I have a verizon sch-i500...

this is what i did... i used superoneclick & rooted.. reset..modem mode& usb debugging... DFS tools & changed my MEID to that of my straight talk ... reset.....factory restore .....bypass verizon activation... activated with straight talk *22890 reset.. the *22891 reset....then verizon activation..... I know that my PRL is wrong by one number....it doesnt match my straight talk .....?
I see that several people have gotten this to at least somewhat work... my question is - what part of the process actually switches the phone from whatever to ST? I have a us cellular mesmerize, same as fascinate from verizon. After switching ESN and such I do not see any difference. The phone is still a us cellular phone. Another strange thing, when I typed in *#06# I viewed an MEID that neither matched the old one or the new one... how could this be? In DFS it shows the new one. When I type the code to do programming and roaming update, it goes to us cellular's programming recording... so how do I actually make the change to ST?

I followed all of the above instructions and have tried the whole process a few times. All I can do is send and receive text msgs. and receive calls. I cannot make calls or use data. Any help please?
Can this method be modified to be used on Sprints network? I have a epic 4g donor phone and unlimited plan
warnold66- U can NOT use the Straight Talk Phone. Take the Battery out of the ST Phone So after you activate the ST MEID you DO NOT TURN ON the Straight Talk Phone unless your Fascinate or whatever phone ur using is Broke. I've done a few hundred of these.

camrok- Yes u can use a Sprint phone if u want the VZW side of ST u have to manually enter in all your data settings. The only issue is most NON VZW Phones MMS will NOT Work, All ur Talk, Text, Web & Apps WILL work Fine. Now if u want to use it on the Sprint Side of ST u need to pick urself up a ST Android I would get 1 thats broke save urself a couple bucks but the Coverage is pretty crappy.

I've been swaping between phones for a yr now on St & been Flashing phones over for customers for that long as well & have had no issues

Why would you pay someone for it?... Just register here (I can't post direct links since I don't have 10 posts, but add the www infront of it..)

cdmatool.com/register.aspx and download here cdmatool.com/Download.aspx then just login with whatever account you registered.. I think it'll say demo mode, but it won't expire and you will have access to everything you need

Are you guys having problems with straight Talk cutting you off for excessive data?

Sent from my MB860 using Tapatalk
I've heard a lot of people get cut off for this, but I haven't been cut off... just don't use too much data in one day and don't use too much in a month. I heard somewhere as long as you don't go over 2gb in a month you're good. Just use data only when necessary and wifi when you can..did they give you a warning or just cut you off?

NAM 1/2

has anyone tried to copy over the nam files with CDMA workshop?

when you activate an ESN, only thing is happening is that the phone is downloading this bit of information. (contains phone numbers and radio channels and other misc provisioning data)

also, how long has this hack lasted for people?

thanks!

I've had my Fascinate on Straight Talk since August 30th last year. No issues at all, even when I missed paying by 2 days and had to reactivate it.

I got an automated call once warning me to cut back on my data or it would be throttled and/or possibly terminated altogether, but the night before I'd spent about an hour and a half streaming YouTube over the 3G. Haven't done that since, never got another warning, and I use data constantly. Download tons of apps, emails, MMS, HEAVY web browsing, and several apps use data in the background constantly (GMail, Maps w/ Nav, WeatherBug Elite,Facebook, FB Messenger and Google Voice), and I stream a video/song or 2 every once in a while, just to give you an idea of the data situation.

Oh, and I DO have WiFi, but I rarely use it because my ROM has issues with MMS while WiFi is on. I only use if for updating my larger apps or when I don't wanna boot my computer to watch a specific video on YT.
