i dont understand

i have downloaded JPF firmware from samfirmwares.com http://www.multiupload.com/RLHA3EC581 and i cant find .tar file. theres only .tar.md5. Where can i get JPF fw i can flash?
JPF has 4 files inside in .tar.md5. you must not select one package, you should select them one by one!
BOOT: I5800XXJPF-REV02-Bootloader-low-CL794643.tar.md5
PHONE: I5800XXJP4_PHONE.tar.md5
PDA: I5800XXJPF-REV02-PDA-CL794643.tar.md5
CSC: I5800OXXJPF-CSC-MULTI-OXX.tar.md5

and...... START :)

The .tar.md5 files are your tar archives. I don't remember if I had to rename them to .tar, but I think you can feed them to Odin directly as they are. If it complains, rename them.

Hello,
i followed the guide exactly but i have a problem.
In the message box it is as follows:

<1> setup connection...
<1> odin mode.. check plcatform verification.
<1> VerifyPlatform:V2, P9,R2
<1> START!!!
<1> set download environment.
<1> logo.png download..
<1> 1/5 Finished.
<1> zImage download..
<1> 2/5 Finished.
<1> factoryfs.rfs download..
<1> 3/5 Finished.
<1> cache.rfs download..
<1> 4/5 Finished.
<1> modem.bin download..
<1> 5/5 Finished.
<1> reset pda..
<0> Started Timer
<1> Close serial port and wait until rebooting.

That is at about 1:30 and then the phone reboots on its own. Afterwards it is stuck in the system recovery screen.
However many times i reboot, even by doing a wipe, it still returns to that screen.
Anyone knows what i am doing wrong?

How do i separate boot.bin and sbi.bin from .tar package..? I'm trying to flash jpf on my stock eclair I5801DDJG6...
THANKS..

Sent from my GT-I5801 using XDA App
If You have separate files like

BOOT: I5800XXJPF-REV02-Bootloader-low-CL794643.tar.md5
PHONE: I5800XXJP4_PHONE.tar.md5
PDA: I5800XXJPF-REV02-PDA-CL794643.tar.md5
CSC: I5800OXXJPF-CSC-MULTI-OXX.tar.md5

Then don't select I5800XXJPF-REV02-Bootloader-low-CL794643.tar.md5 in ODIN while flashing.
And if the ROM is in .tar format (one package ) then open the .tar file using winRar or .7zip and delete sbi.bin and boot.bin (if it is present).

To open tar files and delete the bin files i recommend total commander

ODIN never showed the PASS message for me

but phone restarted and works.

any prob with it?
You should wait for the PASS message in ODIN, and until that you should not remove the usb cable.
Normaly the PASS message appears in aprox 6 7 min.
It's normal the phone restarts at the middle of the process.

I dont think waiting for the PASS has something to do with any form of testing by the ODIN. If you see ODIN, there is a Reset Timer (Sec), Pass will be displayed exactly after 5 mins of reset command.

Change the time and you will get pass early.

Secondly if u flash fugumod kernel, it never detects the phone ater restart until usb cable is unplugged and replugged but still gives Pass

Waiting for the pass message in Odin is absolutely not needed, i never did this for the last two years and three Samsung android phones...
It only makes sense if u use Odin to flash multiple phones at once (what is the original purpouse of Odin Multi Downloader)

My odin doesnt show this...it doesnt detect my g3...though m able to use my g3 as mass storage and also usb debugging and usb tethering? What wrong with ODIN?..can someone help??
Thats because you are connecting the phone which has booted already. You need to put it in download mode by pressing the power+vol down+home key till u get the GT-I5800/5801 logo.
