Hi, just wanted to report that I had success in flashing the ROM - thank you for the assistance. Perhaps you can add some clarifications to the instructions based on my noob questions, such as how long to hold down the volume button. Everything appears to be working fine. I did the gapps immediately after the O/S. What exactly is gapps? I noticed I had to go to the google play store to download gmail..
The instructions are very clear. There is yet anyone who had issues with "holding the volume button"

Gapps is Google apps. Flash in conjunction with the rom or after. There is many apps in the gapps

I flashed gapps expecting to find the google apps when I rebooted but I didn't find any -are they hidden somewhere? For example, gmail, I had to go to the playstore to download and install it. Is gapps the actual apps, or does it just enable you to download the google apps? Gmail was the first app I looked for in the app drawer. Once I downloaded it from the google play store, it installed fine, and is running fine too....
No, none of us has that model.,these are different phones. Use google.

There are different Gapp packages with different apps in them. Most have just the base package and let's you choose what extras you want and get it from the store

First of I tried to post in the Peach Sunrise Thread (http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1435286&highlight=swap+sd&page=63) but have to few posts. If some mod could transfer question I'd appreciate it.
I flashed the Peach Rom and everything when smoothly. But when I used the SwapSD app it caused my Wi-Fi to stop working. I hit the restore to defaults option but that didn't fix the issue. Any Ideas?

Peach Sunrise is kind of outdated -- the last post from Jocala was Nov 2012, but if you really want rooted stock, doing a search through the Peach Sunrise thread it looks like other people had the WiFi issue. One person said that formatting sdcard0 solved the problem, so you might have to format sdcard0/internal in recovery and then reinstall the rom. Make sure you do a backup before formatting, such as moving nandroids, titanium backup files, pictures, .zip install files, etc, to sdcard1/external. Make sure you can see the install files in sdcard1/external in recovery, that way if something goes wrong you can always put the sd card in the computer and copy files to it. Then follow the install instructions in the Peach Sunrise OP. Good luck.
k thanks, if i start running out of space i might try it. but i have enough system memory and internal sd card memory where i don't really feel like re-flashing now.
I'm happy w/peach sunrise but what other rom do you think is also stable and won't push this phone's specs to hard?
There are several jb ROMs available which my phone (which is unchanged since I got it and only has a 4 GB external SD) runs quite smoothly on. I use slimbean, which is very stable, but there are others. This phone is very happy on jb.

I for the the life of me cannot get it to boot into recovery! I get to the acreen where there is a little android next to a white box with an arrow but then it just reboots. It's driving me mad!!!!! Any suggestions? I have no issues with my s4 but this ones making me bonkers

Factory reset for rooted phone ?
I recently rooted Samsung Galaxy Exhibit, but still the performance is very slow. Mobile taking time to perform any operation. Will factory reset will be of any help for improving the performance ? Is there any harm to do factory reset for rooted device ?
If this is not going to help, please suggest a custom ROM which will improve the performance / stability of the device.

Factory reset will not mess with root. It will not help stock as stock is bloated and just runs slow on this phone. For best performance either CM 11 or AOIP is probably your best bet, just remember to upgrade your recovery as per OP.

Thanks for your Input, I was just going thru CM 11 thread and seems there are still some stability issues. I would love to have 4.4.2 running on my device, but is it okay to install that as 'daily driver' or should i try CM 10 or Sleamben JB ROM.
I use the slimbean jb rom. It's stable and fast. Battery life is also ok.

66T-Mobile/Samsung have rebranded the Exhibit II 4G, giving us a new kernel, a bump to Android v2.3.6 and performance improvements (they claim) in the process. The phone we all love is now the Samsung Galaxy Exhibit 4G.
This stock ROM (UVLG3) is NOT vulnerable to USSD Dialer Attacks!
Rooting
Currently, zergrush will not root this phone's Android 2.3.6. Three known methods:
Root Stock 2.3.6 w/o a new kernel or ROM
root-stock.zip

This zip will install Superuser, su and busybox, leaving you rooted, but otherwise no changes to your phone. ClockworkMod must be installed to flash this. So:
1. Flash ClockworkMod
2. Boot into ClockworkMod and flash root-stock.zip.

The kernel is based on Samsung's kernel source. This kernel is rooted; if you flash it via stock recovery or cwm your ROM will be rooted with Superuser.apk, Busybox and the Galaxy Exhibit cwm-recovery installed. This kernel works with all Samsung Gingerbread releases.

1. Back up your data. The installation will format your data partition. I suggest Titanium Backup, available in the Market.
2. Download & copy the current t679.uv???.deodex.0x.zip to your internal sd card (if you already have a cwm installed you may use your removable card).
3. Install Galaxy Exhibit Custom Recovery . If you're already rooted, you may install from the command line, otherwise you may install from Samsung's Recovery. Samsung's recovery only sees the internal SD, so copy the cwm zip there if you just have stock recovery. Stock recovery sometimes takes more than one try to start.
Easy way to start recovery
* Make sure the cwm zip is on your internal (non-removable) sd.
* Pull the battery from your phone.
* Connect phone to your pc via usb.
* Press & hold Volume-up
* Insert battery
Your phone will boot into recovery. Press the capacitive menu button (left bottom button) when you see the open white box and droid. Choose 'apply update from sdcard' and select the cwm zip file.
4. Start Custom Recovery (cwm): Press & hold Vol-Up, then press & hold Power. Shortly after the plain white Samsung logo appears, release both buttons. Recovery should start after the Galaxy Exhibit logo.
5. Select ROMwipe. This step is required!

6.0.1.2 has new features, including better support for both external and internal SD cards, faster backups and restores with a new backup format that de-duplicates data in between backups. Exclusive features for Galaxy Exhibit include:

All system wipes under one menu: rom (system/cache/data),cache,dalvik,cache/dalvik,data.
Stack zip files for installation:
Flash cm9 & gapps, etc. Select as many zip files for installation as you choose. Flash them all with one command.
Install system images:
Drop any recognized system image into a folder on your phone and recovery can flash it. You can even drop the entire contents of an odin tar/md5 file in a folder and cwm recovery will flash it all automatically.
