to add, Sprint has a new sim unlock process rolling out on the 24th.. they will b able to do device unlocks on the spot.. of cpurse the device still needs to b eligible to b unlocked (paid off, active at least 50 days, acct in good standing.)

so policies stil same but no longer would have to wait 2 to 5 days for the unlock..

i believe care will have access to the tool and of course acct services.. care typically would only handle the process in ome off situations as these calls are still churn risks which are handled by acct services so u might still b transferred at least once lol

guys i finally got them to unlock my note9. I think it will work for note10 too. hope this helps, just call Sprint customer service and cause a ruckus! i told them i contacted the fcc and attorneys general and my lawyer all have the case on standby if they didnt automatically unlock it...i paid everything off and they fed me a run around saying 3 days it will unlock after reading posts and realizing they were breaking the law, i pressed them and told them i was sueing and already had a pending case, they put me on hold pressed some buttons and unlocked it. i inserted my t-mobile sim card and was good to go. sprint gets salty and sends you through loops when leaving never will i ever go back with them!

they arent breaking any laws lol.. u agreed to the policy when u purchased the phone.. there is a process (they are improving by releasing a tool to agents that can now unlock on the same call) at which per policy it usually will take 2 to 5 days..

they also do not automatically unlock once paid.. u have to call and request it..so the time frame for the unlock starts from when YOU request it.. u cant hate on low level reps doing their job.. heck they are actually following the rules lol

also as i stated earlier, sprints actually working to improve the process.. once requirements are met they have a new tool that can unlock immediately.. i took training on it Thursday and itll b a go as of 9/24.. its possible whoever u spoke with was able to use the tool to unlock ur phone..

What service did you go to from Sprint? I am trying to go to AT&T from Sprint on my Samsung Note10+ and running into the same situation. AT&T does not know what to do with the six digit MSL code(

msl code is NOT a sim unlock code lol.. in the event u paid off ur n10 already u still need to meet the 50 day requirement before they will unlock it..

dunno y its so difficult for ppl to read up on carrier unlock policies.. ur just wastin ur time talkin to sprint then goin to att lol.. now if all reqs r met n theyre still not unlocking it then id raise hell lol

hi guys, is it possible to unlock note 10 plus with U1ASH4 build number? or I need to update it to latest version?

SIM unlocking isn't dependant on which software version you have. You just have to pay off your phone, and in the case of T-Mobile, have it active on your account for 45 days. Then you use the built in device unlocking app to request the unlock.

If that doesn't work, don't bother calling in. Just reach out to T-Mobile on Twitter. They are super helpful and friendly.

All my phones are paid in full and yet 1 phone I wasted whole week talking to carrier and Samsung back and forth and over 2 yrs later it's still locked, my new N10+ I have to wait more than a month, so still will have to see the outcome, WTF . I can understand if the phone is on a plan, but if it's paid in full it should be illegal to keep it locked. In the end I think it's my fault and to fix this N10+ will be my last carrier branded phone.

its not illegal when they have clear policies you agree to when purchasing the device

that's not true. my old note9 t-mobile was fully paid off and t-mobile support refused to unlock it with no reasons. I have unlocked using third party service

Not sure what to tell you. T-Force on Twitter has always bent over backwards to help me. Not their telephone support, but their Twitter team. Two different teams.

By the way, just because you had one bad experience doesn't make what I said "not true." I know you didn't mean it this way, but others would think you were calling them a liar.

Hi Guys, quick question... Im in Europe and want to purchase the SM-N9750/DS because it has SD855. I've seen couple of ones for sale on Amazon... It says factory unlocked. Normally the SM-N9750/DS is Latin America / China version.... ( GSM version ).

If I place an order should I also need to unlock it by making that 5 mins call ? Is it locked by region as well ? Because the one I got with the Exynos 9825 was unlocked but it clearly said on the box EU SIM cards only... Apparently I have to place a 5 - 10 mins call using an EU SIM before it unlocks.

no.

i dont understand how ppl can think simply flashing unlocked firmware could sim unlock a phone lol..

if it were that easy carriers n oems wouldnt spend billions of dollars on security measures and thered be no point in them even locking it to begin with if it were that easy.. just sayin...

ok ok :) If remember right, some years a go was able unlock branded Huawei/Honor phones, even make it from single to dual sim. I would say 70% people dont know and never will know how flash firmware. Flashing Huawei is pain in the... (you cant flash to Huawei anything manually even maybe official) Im not sure but maybe also HTC DHD was able unlock with flashing unbranded firmware.

So thats why I thought it is possible do it for free / easy way. I dont think so there are billions dollars, in locking phones for 2 years to one carrier. Yes its part of those "billions". No offence, just my opinion.

edit: I found tools for do that... like FunkyHuawei can save you hassle and time with flashing, everything is possible also without 3rd service but longest and painfull way, at least with Huawei

Guys, I don't know if here is te correct post, but when I search here in forum, I was searching for a solution to unlock my device (Galaxy Note 10+) and my phone was locked to TELCEL carrier here in Mexico, I bought an unlock code for $18 USD, but my problem was that when I insert another carrier SIM to my phone, the screen was locked, and I can't have access to the phone, neither to configuration menu, don't ask for a unlock code, I was thinking to load other carrier rom to fix problem, but I search in web and I found this, and it works for me, I put the code without a SIM and then phone ask me for the unlock code, then it works, now I have my Phone unlock to any carrier. Hope this help.

If your phone does not ask for “SIM Network Unlock Pin” then you can go to the dial screen and press

Congratulations! Your Samsung now asks for the unlock code.

If your Samsung still doesn’t ask for the unlock code you can check out another article from our Help Center that will guide you through more troubleshooting steps, but for those, you are required to already have the unlock code generated.

Exception!
Please note that there is also the possibility when your phone can only be unlocked through the Device Unlock app specific to T-Mobile USA and Metro PCS USA.

In this case, your Samsung will not prompt you for any unlocking code because there is no designated field in which a code can be inserted.

May I know where did you get it done for $18? Please DM me or update here.

Hi guys, I want to pre-order Samsung Galaxy Note 10 or Note10+ phone from carrier and unlock it for my local sim card. I'm trying to find the best variant for me, but I have noticed that there are a lot of different variants of this phone. Which one is the best choice for sim unlocking purposes or they have the same baseband hardware? Also I heard that some of them may be hard locked by carrier.
    SM-N975F; SM-N975F/DS; SM-N975U; SM-N975U1; SM-N975W; SM-N9750/DS; SM-N975N; SM-N971U; SM-N971N; SM-N970F; SM-N970F/DS; SM-N970U; SM-N970U1; SM-N970W; SM-N9700/DS; SM-N970N; SM-N976F; SM-N976U; SM-N976N

    Thanks

I have tried to get unlock code for my note 10+ directly from Sprint support but they refused without any explanation why( any suggestions?

you cant just call in and get a unlock code lol... the sprint department i work in is customer account services which handles all those calls.. Sprint along with every other carrier sees device unlocking as achurn clue since typically people want to unlock to use their phones on another carrier sothey give themselves that "last chance" to save a customer.

with that being said, no one u can talk to over the phone at sprint has the ability to unlock phones... they create a case which goes to a dedicated back office team that goes and unlocks it on the back end.

They will notify you via whichever means you requested when the case is created. It typically will take 1 to 3 business days unless they are backlogged at which point it can take up to 5 business days.

This is all of course assuming you meet the requirements which typically means device is fully paid off, phone has been active on Sprint at least 50 days (i think its 50 if i can recall) and account is in good standing i.e. not in collections or suspended for non pay etc etc.

Its done on the backend servers so usually just need the phone to b turned on and connected to the internet. I believe they also send you a code.

All they can do over the phone is create the case and check in the system if its unlocked or not.

One possible explanation could be "I'm going to England on vacation and want to use a local SIM card for service while I'm there."
