Can anyone confirm Indian version aka n910G lollipop (rom) supports Gear VR or not?
It supports gear vr...
but just to confirm
Go to settings and open the application manager and then slide to all apps and try to search for an app called gear vr shell and other apps...
if its present (mine is stock so, it shoulf be there, duh), then ur device is supported.

You do need the kernel changed...... There r a couple you can try..... So here is the process to root
1. download odin and the latest TWRP for your device.
2. Flash TWRP and boot into twrp......
3. Flash a kernel.... That sets selinux to permassive.......
I use this one.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/5-1-1-namelessv1-t3221528
See post 2.....Nameless Kernel... You can also use the whole ROM...... Pretty great stuff......

Also if you prefer stock use this.... http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/n910f-android-stock-5-1-1-kernel-root-t3208778

Disregard that it is for F variant..... It also works on G...... But it won't flash with twrp.... Use cwm for it

2nd.. Stock kernel....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62953277&postcount=1

I'll recommend you flash Nameless... Cause thats what I use and is great..... Battery life and performance......
